To be honest, I love the first one and think after it is altered, it will be much more flattering:)

I really like the dress you bought.  It looks beautiful and you look trim and shapely in it.  The second dress is more grand, but you won’t look any more beautiful.  You may ask the 2nd bridal store if they are having any “trunk shows” where a lot of dresses are marked up to 60% off.  If not, I think you should stay with what you have.  Perhaps for your reception, change your hair and jewelry for a different look, add a feather in your hair with a diamond brooch and you will feel more glamorous.

I usually encourage bees to stick with the dress they bought and find a way to love it, but the second dress is one of the prettiest I’ve seen.  Could another family member help make up the difference, or could you get a refund on the first one from DB?  Please post the brand and style number of the second one – I’d love for my daughter to try it on!

@frommisstomrs.:  Well, they are both pretty, that’s for sure.

    What is your venue?

@frommisstomrs.:  They’re both very pretty dresses, but I think the dress you chose looks beautiful on you!  It’s very elegant, and has sort of a vintage feel.  I think you should keep it (and be excited that you were able to stay under budget!).

On an unrelated note, I’m feeling a little jealous of your gorgeous curls right now … I love that look, and my hair just won’t do it.  Haha.

@frommisstomrs.:  Ahhh!  I once had my hairdresser do that for me, and it looked so pretty.  It stayed in perfectly for hours!  I tried doing it myself and … No.  Just no.

This is why I will not be doing my own hair for my wedding!  Haha.

@frommisstomrs.:  Thanks so much for the style number – hope we can find this to try on in our area.  It meets all my daughter’s criteria: ruched bodice, bling, buttons down the back and no lace.  DB will tell you “no refunds” but other bees have posted stories of getting satisfactory results – good luck and keep us posted!

@frommisstomrs.:  They both look lovely on you! What beautiful gowns 🙂 I feel you should go with the dress that you feel best in. If it is dress #2 that you feel best in, maybe you should try to take #1 back or sell it? It’s worth a shot!
