I'm new so hello everyone! I've been stalking all of you for a few weeks but now I'm ready to show my face lol. After what I thought was good research I picked Earlybird01 from DHgate..I didn't know about Dousheng, Landy, or Dressilyme when I did this. So I was just researching DHGate sellers. I wanted the top of one dress and the bottom of another. He sent me pictures and it was not good! It was empire waist which made it look pretty terrible to me..when it was supposed to be the top of one ballgown attached to the bottom of another..he is currently fixing it but I want to go through one of these vendors for a new dress because I super fell in love with a henry roth dress and I'm not making any changes to it so hopefully it will work out better (I will probably craigslist my 1st dress once i get it) So of course my dress budget was already taken but I want to do it again because the dresses from these vendors I've seen here are beautiful! I need advice on which vendor to go with for the price with the type of dress it is. I hear different vendors are better with different things. I will attach pictures of the new dress at the bottom but first here are the pics of the 1st dress that is messed up. What do you really thing about it.

Here is the inspiration of my first dress top:

Here is the skirt I wanted:

Another: of the back and skirt:

Here is what Earlybird01 sent me!

    Back-

So this is not want I wanted...I will post my new dress in a second..Thank you thank you thank you!!

Ok here is the dream dress (I know to keep my expections in check but the earlybird01 dress was just not what I wanted..maybe when he fixes it it will look great but I'll probably sell it anyway. So this is a Henry Roth dress that I can't find on the internet ANYWHERE except Kleinfield.com..it's not even on his website.

Can you help me find the right person to do this satin dress in the silver beading/crystal trim..Does anyone have an idea of what the silver is?? I would love to know to tell the designer.

    Landy quoted $345 including shipping

Dressilyme quoted $188 excluding shipping..I've asked for shipping costs

Dousheng quoted Standard Quality $283.00 Best Quality $417.00 (Plus $70 shipping!)

I'm telling them I need it by October 1st (my wedding is October 20th) so when I choose someone I want someone who is reliable with the time too.

Dousheng Brides!!! what quality? I don't want to spend $417 if its not that much different from the standard quality. If you got standard quality did it come with a corset inside? Thanks

Quotes don't include the jacket..dont think im gonna get it..

My main concern is the silver in the dress, I know the satin will not be designer silk satin.

    Thank you!!

I went the DHgate route and was very unhappy with my dress too. Unfortunately it is not in my budget to change it once I received it. I have heard great things about Dressilyme and also Jasmin Bridals. You might want to check them out as well.

When I was going to go the china replica route, I certainly did my research. From everything I saw, these I would look into (it's been awhile, I may have forgotten one):

    -Dressilyme

-Jasmine's Bridal (check out thier fb page- they have real pics of thier dresses)

    -Landy Bridal

    -Corals Bridal

    -Monica's Bridal

@Robin27:  I really love the dress Earlybird01 made!  I think it is beautiful!  But I completely understand not liking it if it isn't what you had in mind.

Another one I have heard good things about on this board is Milly Bridal.

    GL!

I personally LIKE the dress that they made. It looks very good. I think if you use a good crinoline, you will be okay. Maybe not as poufy as you want but the dress looks very well made. I wouldn't chuck it just yet.... At least try it ON.

I think that first dress is adorable! A couple brides used Tidebuy.com and were happy...I've been looking through their dresses and they are beautiful and inexpensive

@Robin27: No prob :) Sorry you had to go through a bad experience, but many china dress brides have gone through the same thing & ended up very satisfied after going with another vendor. Might I add they still spent less on 2 china dresses vs. 1 even David's Bridal dress? Good luck & please post the new dress when you get it!!

I just got my dress from Dressilyme yesterday. It's fantastic. It's not exaclty like the picture, but I knew that was likely going to happen. I think when you order a replica you have to be prepared to live with minor differences.

I used LightintheBox.com for my dress, and the quality of their work was great!

    Hi Ladies,

this is my first post or comment so excuse me if I type something silly.... Which company is the best to buy from? I don't have the funds to pay $1000 for a dress and so I was looking at DHGate but since I have seen this, I am a bit nervous.

@Robin27: I actually purchased my reception Dress from Duosheung.  They were great to work w/ and I will definitely use them again.  I went w/ standard bridal fabric and I was impressed w/ the quality.  Even my seamstress was impressed.  My dress was actually 2 different designers(Rosa Clara and San Patrick).  This is what I wanted:

This is the final product. Now my seamstress did have to do some minor alterations due to lack of quality control(I'm a perfectionist).  Since it is champagne and I want to wear again, I'm going to dye(pale blue/yellow/peach) and make some minor changes to the bodice:

@Robin27: Oh my dress was completely lined and had excellent boning.  My alterations were due some stitching issues that had to nothing to do w/ fit.  The dress fit perfect.

    @CaptainSpaulding:

I totally agree! All of those options sound like a great choice.

Thank you all soo much! After a lot of thought I decided to get a second dress through dressily me. I really didn't find any negative reviews other than the norm..I know it won't be designer fabric.. some details may be different etc..This and the project wedding forum helped alot, there are tons of brides on there that ordered dressily me. I was just really taken back when I had this vision in my head of my first dress and I got the pictures and it was not what I wanted. Once it's a ball gown and not an empire waist dress I'll probably feel differently, for now I feel sooo much better that I decided to get a second dress that I really truly love..at least the pictures of it anyway. I've put so much effort into our wedding...that it would have really been disappointing to walk down the aisle in something I didn't love or even really like.

Thank you all for posting your pics and your experience!!! It helped more than you know! I was really really worried, especially with my wedding being next month!!

My advice-If you going to get creative with your wedding dress and get the top from this, the back of this, flowers like these, change train etc etc..make sure do it well in advance because you won't see "your vision" until it's actually made and it may not be what you dreamed in your head. I should have started this a long time ago..but like most brides-i think- I kept saying..wait till I lose 10 more pounds..which I did but maybe I should have thought of that when we got engaged 3 years ago!!! LOL

My second advice-Use microsoft paint! Its a free program that always comes with a PC, listed under accessories. Just open the paint program, then open your picture file and use the arrows and lines etc and text to make notes and SHOW them what you want.

I love the dress they made you! (But I can understand not wanting the empire waist. It depends on your shape. For me, I love them because they make me look taller.)

I know this is old but I wondered if the OP ever came back and posted her dress she replaced this one with? I actually liked what they made but I understand it's not what you wanted.
