So, I debated on whether or not to write this post.  I am just hoping this post might help someone.  Though I have not personally had infertility problems,  I do, have Celiac.  It is linked to infertility (mostly if undiagnosed, which most Celiacs do not know they have it).  It is estimated 3 million Americans have Celiac, but I've heard less than 5% are diagnosed.  There are credible sources that show this link, so don't just take my word.  I have no medical training, just my personal experience with Celiac.  (I did just get this in an email from the American College of Gastroenterology, " Latent celiac disease could increase a woman's risk of reproductive problems, a study found. Researchers said women who have positive celiac antibodies but a normal small bowel biopsy were more likely to have recurrent spontaneous abortion, stillbirth, intrauterine growth restriction and unexplained infertility.")

Before I knew I had Celiac, I had over 30 day cycles and they were not so great.  So, they put me on the pill.  I was diagnosed during this time, stopped eating gluten, and my cycles were regulated by the pill.  The 7 months I was off the pill (before getting pregnant), my cycles were much shorter, and I think I got pregnant on cycle day 9, the first month w/o a "goalie"!  I can't say for sure it was the gluten, since there was the Pill in there, too.

I just know it took them YEARS to diagnose me with Celiac, and within the Celiac community you do hear stories about people getting pregnant once they go off gluten.  So, it is just something you may want to discuss with your doctor if you think you may have some symptoms of Celiac, as most people are diagnosed through a simple blood test.  I decided to go ahead and write this, bc I know if I had not been fortunate enough to have been diagnosed before I was married, things would have been very different for our family.  Though sometimes it is hard to stay gluten free, I am so blessed that they caught it when they did, literally a few days before I met my now husband!

I wish all of your families much luck!  *sending you baby dust*

I dont have celiac, but I have a very high gluten sensitivity.  It makes me very sick and bloated if I eat it, so Ive cut it all out (almost all dairy too.)  when I was diagnosed, I was terrified it would affect my fertility.  Luckily for me it didnt.  But this is a great PSA for people to possibly get tested if they feel something is off
