My husband & I bought our pets stockings. Actullay our cats stockings are from last year which was our first Christmas on our own & married. Sophie (Our dog) got hers just the other day.

Are we just weird or is this common? lol

My dog has a stocking :)

It's not decorated like yours... it's just a smaller, normal stocking. We even fill it with treats and toys and try to coerce her to rip off the wrapping paper. (Okay, now I sound nuts!)

@Catherine: it's okay, I try to get our dog to unwrap his own gifts too. He'll paw at it a few times then just sit there staring at it and then at you like *ahem*!!! open please :D

@yellowshoe: My brothers dog can find his gifts in a huge pile no matter what it is and tears it open. We have to hide his gifts from him!

@Catherine:You do not sounds nuts since I want to try this with our dog! LOL

We usually buy a bag with 20 some toys in it for cheap (you cand find alot of cute toys at the family dollar) for our cats & split them up & put those in their stockings. Also this year we are going to do kitty treats. For our dog we want to buy some Dog cookies, this bag of toys for dogs we saw the other day (it has a small basketball, chew toys, tug-a-war rope, ect.) & wrap that for her to rip open! :P Then small items in her stocking. & A big bone! Well big enough for her. :P

@yellowshoe: haha, love it! Our dog will try to open it once she can tell what it is, but I don't think she'd just rip open her gifts unprompted like @lefeymw.

We empty our dog's toy bin and fill it with all of her presents.  So it is sort of a "stocking".

    YES. Both my cats do.

I hang them VERY high and stuff them with cat nip.

Then I proceed to watch them trying to get to it.

    Quite funny actually ;-)

@Juliepants: I don't know what is more cute, the fact that your hamster is named Captain Morgan or that you have a "wee" stocking that is size appropriate for Sir Morgan.

We just bought our dog a Christmas sweater at Target last weekend. It's red and green and has a cute penguin with presents on it. My husband and I both just couldn't resist. Can't wait to put it on our dog. :)

@Treejewel19: Thanks :) I will keep an eye out!

@Mrs.Estep: The picture was taken at Yorkdale mall in Toronto where we used to live. They have an event every year called 'Santa Paws' that's just for pets to have their photo taken with Santa. That year was the only time we did it, it was too cute to pass up! You should look and see if they have it in your area... we always put up the picture as a decoration each year :)

And thanks :) We think she's pretty cute too!!
