LOVE IT! What a fabulous and creative way to use pomanders! I think that the feathers make it pop and give it a youthful and unique edge. They will look fabulous lining the aisle.
I had been thinking of shepard's hooks, but now...I may just have to borrow this idea.
@MissAdventure: Thank you :-)
I wanted to use shephards hooks, but we will be inside, so that wouldn't work. I also think that this is a different look than other people have done. And please, borrow away!!!
@noritake22:I think its very different. I've scoured the internet in my wedding planning, and I can't recall seeing this before. Again...fantastic job!
@MissAdventure: Thank you again :-)
It is my goal to be different. I have never liked to be like everyone else.
Those are definitely eye catching! What type of flowers did you use for the poms?
Those are STUNNING! I think you did a great job of incorporating the feathers without getting tacky. Great job!
I love those, you did an awesome job!! Its such a unique idea, but at the same time balanced and awesome! I cant wait to see ceremony pics!
Thank you Ballerina_Bride and FutureMrsSmith :-)
@pooks75: I kinda just made it up as I went along. Here is a tutorial that I made: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-pomskissing-balls
@noritake22: I did basically the same thing to place one each corner of the platform for my sister's wedding. I used big clear vases with vines inside with a gigantic pomander on top.
Yours turned out great!
Looks awesome! Well done! I have made some pomanders, but yours look so symmetrical.... mine - not so much!
Please tell me how you made your poms. I would love to borrow this idea :)
Where did you find your vases?? I love them!!
@Topolino: Thank you :-)
I found the vases at Michaels in the floral area.
Hi,
These look great! How much did each pom cost about? I'm looking at using these for my pew decorations also..
when you get settled (I noticed you just got married) can we see how they looked? :)
you have been such an inspiration to me! I have decided to attempt my invitations and save the dates as there isn't even 100 I will need to send out.
thank you so much, and I hope that even though you got married i hope you continue to post here:) you were like hte first one to welcome me and stuff:) you're awesome! yay! cant wait to see pics of the wedding!
Ronney
Thank you ladies :-)
They looked great at the wedding and the guests loved them!!!
@Ronneykay: I will post pictures when I get all the detail pictures back from our photographers. I have a couple right now, but they have proof on the pictures. Good luck with your invitations and save-the-dates. Remember, you only need one per household and one for your srapbook, if you are doing one.
@christinenadine: Please steal away :-)

Several months ago, I made 7 humongous poms to hang on the chairs going up the aisle during the ceremony. I dedided they were way to big, so I took them all a part and redid them smaller; ending up with 10 poms. Each one has a hanging ribbon to hang on the chairs, but I decided I didn't really love that idea, so I knew I had to think of something else. I have been wracking my brain about how to incorporate feathers into the ceremony without the feathers overtaking everything, so I kept making trips to Michaels and Joanns for inspiration. Well, last week, I finally got my inspiration and decided to make feather vases for the poms. They still have the ribbon hangers, so I will be able to sell them after the wedding, but they also serve a dual purpose by sitting in a vase. Here are some pictures of the finished project.
