Which looks more stuiable for an elopement/very small wedding in the mountains? The wedding meal will be at a restaurant (imagine walking past patrons in this dress). I am 36 years old, not sure if that matters. Neither have been altered so Dress 1 should look a little more fitted after alterations.

My ceremony could be at one of these two places, not sure yet! Basically, outdoors with mountain views for an elopement or very small intimate wedding, followed by a dinner in a fancy restaurant (not a venue).
(This is just off a trail, so some hiking involved to get to here)

@ticatica: Would you wear that gown in a restaurant? That was my concern. Going to the bathroom and walking past everyone in a big dress like that!

dress 2! It looks so lovely and airy and happy! 😀

Dress 2 without a doubt! You rock it!

@sienna76: Both are lovely and suitable in my opinion, but I’d say i prefer number 2 for the same reasons pengoala gave, but if you will feel awkward walking through the restaurant with a bigger skirt like that, then go for number 1 (I think you should go with the one you love the most, regardless!).

I think both fit your shape wonderfully, but going by the venue and the circumstances of your party, I’d pick #1.

Dress number 1, I like it MUCH better than 2. For something small, intimate and in a public restaurant I think its more appropriate, plus I think dress 1 goes with the hair piece better. Dress 2 seems like a full, big wedding dress that should be with a veil and everything……

I’m in the minority, but I like number 1. I think it’s more suitable for the venue/intimate wedding. Dress 2 does abslutely nothing for your bust, but I’m assuming part of that has to do with it not fitting properly. It might look better with a sweetheart neckline as well, but as is, I like number 1!
Also, I think a blingy belt like the second one but thicker would look great on the first dress!

I think dress 1 fits the wedding you’re describing a bit better, but both look great on you!

They’re both lovely! I chose dress two, but either one looks great on you.

I was all in love with #2 for weeks! I wanted a ball gown after all! I had #1 in my closet for about 2 years but didn’t think it was “fancy/special” enough.
But then our ideas/location/etc has changed so much since then. It’s been quite a rollercoaster (some may know my story). We’re still not even sure where we are getting married.
Then I got the hairpiece I posted, and it really added to the chiffon/ivory gown so much that I considered this dress again. I am trying to figure something for the waist.
Then I’m thinking, “I’m 36, do I want to be walking around in a ballgown in a local restaurant?”
Location #1 (the lake) is in Canada, a Destination Wedding for us. A ball gown would not look as funny since they have elopements there every day. It’s pretty light for a gown, but not as comfy as #1.
Location #2 (the fall colors) is just a couple miles away from our house. The chiffon ivory dress would be much easier to hike in. Plus the restaurant I had in mind is in an old house, somewhere we go fairly often for special occasion dinners. A ball gown would look silly in such a small intimate place.
It’s hard to say which I love the most also, because they aren’t properly altered yet, so I have to pick one and go with it (opposed to getting each althered, then choosing). I will resell one since they are both New With Tags.
