Ok, it won't upload. Its the Essense of Australia D985 dress on there website.
My first thought is that band around the lower waist of the Essence dress you posted may emphazise your hips too much.
They're all beautiful. I think you're going to have to try them on and see how you feel in them. Hopefully when you try on "your dress" you'll know right away that it's the one. Can you try on the Maggie at a different store? I'd hate for you to choose a dress without trying on the 1 dress that you originally loved...you might always have second thoughts.
I am having a hard time finding a store that actually has the "Beth" dress in the store to try on. I am ok with paying to have it shipped here for me to try on. The owner of the salon will reimburse me the shipping charges if I do end up purchasing the "Beth" dress. I showed my mom and my grandma(who is very old fashioned and very very catholic:) and she loved it. I thought for sure she would have a coronary! The salon I am going to will let me take pics of me in the dresses as I try them on, so I will post pics. The "Beth" dress won't be there for me to try this weekend but I will gladly make another trip to try it on. I think I just love it because it's different and unique. I want to make a statement and the dress would look really good with his tux. He is wearing a white 3 button tux with very thin black pinstripes. Grrrr!!!!
I do like the Maggie dress and I think it's worth it to pay the $50 to try it on even if you don't end up buying it. There was a dress I saw online and loved, and for the life of me I could not find a bridal shop that carried it or could get it for me to try on :(
I have tried on the Essense dress you posted a pic of (with the band around the hips). I don't have hips at all, and it still made them look huge!! You might want to be wary of that!! Good luck!! I went to 4 shops over 2 days and tried on probably 20 different dresses at each store. It's tiring, but I promise - you'll find "the one". Of course, I also had about 15 dresses printed out and I think I was only able to try on 1 or 2 of them because the rest weren't carried in store.
The essence dress is beautiful - I love the black & white! But I do think that it might emphasize your hips. The Maggie is gorgeous too, and unique, and make help you to look more proportioned due to the solid color.
Just for fun if u order the Beth, take a black ribbon/band and tie it around your waste with a bow, it might make your waist more define since the black work on the dress will make all eyes go to that area of ur body....something like this pic: http://annie-thejourney.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/week1_monique_lhuillier.jpg

Ok, so I went last Saturday to try on dresses and was hoping to find the one. I did not. I tried on at least 10 dresses and didn't really care for any of them. I had my heart set on trying on the Maggie Sottero "Beth" dress but the salon did not have that dress in. I was bummed but went about looking for something else. I tried on the Victoriana and holy dress. It's beautiful but too much dress for me. I have another appointment at the same salon this coming Saturday to try on 2 other dresses that I had them bring from their other store. The 2 I am trying on are from Essense of Australia. I attached pics. I also talked to the owner of the salon and she is able to get the Maggie dress is but I would have to pay the $50 shipping fee(which will be put toward the cost of the dress should I pick that one). I love all 3 of these dresses and I can envision myself walking down the aisle in them. My question to you is, which do you think? I love all 3 but can only have 1. They are all in my price range. I am 5'5 and about 115lbs and somewhat "endowed". I really appreciate all of your opinions. The one thing I will say is that thanks to my little bundles of joy, I now have hips. Not big enough for their own zip code but really don't want them to accentuated unless it looks fantastic.
