I can’t believe I have gotten to this step! I need help with two addresses.
The first one is an unmarried couple and one of their children (the male is not related).
Sarah Jones, Michelle Jones and Paul Smith. How would you address that?
The other one is for a big family, all of them have the same last name. Do you say “The Smith family” or Adam, Mindy, Nicole and Jim Smith”?
Please help! The people I need to determine this on are super critical so I hope to get it right!

@MrsFutureG: The Smith family for your second question… and perhaps Mr. Paul Smith and Misses Sarah and Michelle Jones?

The first should be (I had to look this up too):
Ms. Sarah Jones
Ms. Michelle Jones
Mr. Paul Smith
Ms. Sarah Jones and Ms. Michelle Jones
Mr. Paul Smith
I kick the second name down a row if it’s a little long for the envelope (either way is acceptable).
The second one could be:
The Smith Family (I think this leaves up to interpretation on who is invited unless you have internal envelopes)
OR (I chose this way to be very clear on who is invited)
Mr. and Mrs. Adam Smith
Ms. Nicole Smith
Mr. Jim Smith
Hope this helps!

@JessSeny: @GeorgiaBride5: Screw it, “Paul Smith” doesn’t get invited! He’s too difficult. 😉
Thanks for the help! The whole Smith clan (in the second example) is invited, so I think I’ll stick with “Smith Family” if that isn’t completely out of line.

@MrsFutureG: I would say Mr. Paul Smith and Ms Michelle Jones and Sarah(if she is the child)
For the large family I would say Mr Jim Smith and family or Mr and Mrs Jim Smith and family.

@jesssamesssa: My only issue is this “family” is difficult. They all live together, but he’s the estranged ex boyfriend/roommate that doesn’t go anywhere. She is the sister-in-law and the child is a junior bridesmaid. So I want the sister to be first but at the same time, I want the bridesmaid to get top billing and then my head exploded. 😉

@MrsFutureG Sorry I just realized that I assumed incorrectly on Sarah, Michelle, and Paul and each role they played in the household.
Mr. Head of Household and Ms. Head of Household
Mr./Ms. Child of Household

For the second people you listed I would say “The Smith Family.” This is what we did when all members of the family were invited. You just have to make sure to get an exact number from them if not all of the members of the family are coming.
For the first people I would say Ms. Michelle Jones and Ms. Sarah Jones, and then put Mr. Paul Smith directly underneath it. I would put Michelle and Sarah on the same line since they are a couple.

Can I throw a curveball: “and” implies marriage
