Dress two is so unique and figure flattering!!! You look awesome in it!! And, it looks great for a beach setting.
I like the Maggie. Dress one is pretty and all, but it's not my style.
Ok - I just realized that you're a year + out. Honestly, I understand you're rethinking your dress, but I'd hold off for buying yet another one for at LEAST 8 months or so (that way you don't go through this again).
Agree with SanDiegoAli - don't buy any more dresses! You see already that it's easy to change your mind! You don't want to be going through this again with the second dress.

I love the Maggie dress! I would be upfront with you FMIL. She may be more understanding than you think. The Maggie dress is perfect for the beach and you look fantastic in it. Show her both pictures side by side like you did here and I think she'll go for the Maggie!
I like the second one better, but I agree its too early to buy a second dress. It seems like youre jumping to decisions pretty quickly. You should give yourself time to think about the situation and decide what you want to do. You dont want to end up not liking the second one either by the time your wedding comes around.
I'd also consider looking at dresses a bit later since your wedding is so far away because you may find something better later. If you rush to buy a dress now, you may regret it.
You also have to consider whether you're going to gain or lose weight. If you order the dress and lose weight, it may cost quite a bit to get altered.
I like #2. But I do agree with what everyone is saying. I got my dress in September, and am going to my final fitting this weekend. I think 6 months is a pretty good time frame, but I've heard in big city bridal salons, the dresses take 6 months just to come in. Best of Luck.
If you're 100% sure that you're not going to go looking again and that this is the one, I would buy the new dress, it looks amazing on you. The first dress is pretty, but it doesn't seem like a comfortable dress for a beach wedding.
I almost bought dress #2 myself, after spending almost a half hour staring at myself in the mirror. It's beautiful :)
I love the Maggie - I would try and sell your DB dress and tell your FMIL!
Def. dress #2! Everyone seemed to wear the DB dress like 2 years ago. I'm not trashing the dress by saying that...just that it was very popular and overplayed I think.
I really like the Maggie dress much better than the DB dress. I think you should talk to your FMIL about it and you may be surprised that she would be okay with you getting a different dress.
I love the Maggie dress on you. I bet if your FMIL saw the dress you loved and how happy you are in it, she wouldn't care if you decided to sell the other dress!
i like dress 2 better. but i also agree with SanDiegoAli. im getting married in March and as of right now i also have 2 wedding dresses. we have very similar stories. now i have to try and sell my first dress. selling one dress is hard enought, just make sure this is the one you absolutly want.
Can you find out what Maggie dress that is? If it is from one of her newer lines then you could wait a while and then purchase it. I really love the second one though, much more beach feel to it!

First off: I been engaged for awhile now. And one day, last summer, my future mother in law wanted to go look at wedding dress. And, I was up for it! I wanted to see what was available and I had bookmarked a couple I liked. So we went over to David's Bridal and I tired on my favorite dress and really liked it and so did my mom (who I texted) and my FMIL.
I wasn't going to buy the dress than because geez, it was two years out but my FMIL got it her head it would be discontinued before than and blah and blah..and the next thing I knew she was slapping down her credit card and signing the reciept. And, now I have my first dress. my I like it dress that my FMIL bought.
Than, my FMIL started suggesting I looked for shorter dress for the ceremony because she thinks the dress we bought would be too heavy and hot to get married on the beach. So I looked for "beachy dress" and found two that I loved..But I was okay with the dress that she had already purchased..
I put them in my bookmarked section and continue on with my life..till today when I walked into a bridal shop to look at bridesmaid dresses to figure out shape, price, and stuff with one of my bm...and as I walked in, what do I see: my dress and all of its awesomeness. The saleslady talked me into "just trying it on"..and it's amazing! I love how I look in it. It made me cry. So now I have bought a dress one and I am in love with a dress two. And, I don't know what to do.
I'm pretty sure David's won't take back my dress 1 even though it has no alternations done on it and it hasn't been worn...and I don't want to offend my FMIL to ask if I could sell it online so I can buy my new dress. The dress one was only 350 and the dress I love is $700. Both are under my original budget: one by a lot and one by a little.
Which dress do you like best on me? Please ignore the bra straps :S And the crappy phone pic.
So should I buy the dress 2 and try to return/sell number 1? Than should I tell FMIL or keep it secret to the big surprise? Or just keep dress 1 and call it a day?
*le sigh* and, I shrugged at all those other girls saying "aww..that would never be me, I know what I want" hehe. ;)
