You cannot wear a raincoat, everyone will know you’re not a natural ‘Seattlite’ 😉

I kid (a little) I love Seattle, and lived there many years. If you have any questions,  ask!,

Welcome! Yes to a hood. Always a hood never an umbrella. 😉

I had missed your previous posts, but thank you for posting links them! My FI and I currently live in southern California, and we are trying to move back east (to either Philly or Boston). I love reading other stories about moving cross country to get an idea of what to expect. (We have cats too, and it’s been one of the biggest areas of concern as to how we’re going to get them from Place A to Place B!) Thanks again! 🙂

littlemisst08:  I’m a little bit jealous! My husband and I would love to relocate to the Washington/Oregon area!

We made a cross country move about 6 years ago from NC to NM. So I know that feeling of not knowing anyone in the new area. It sounds like you are off to a great start! 🙂

Pshah. You can wear a rain coat, and use an umbrella. You don’t have much of a choice around here! 🙂 at least us commuters use umbrellas anyway!

Welcome to Seattle! So glad you are liking it so far! I’m just about 15 miles north. I’m happy to exhange email addresses, feel free to contact me any time with questions or just to Seattle chat!! Enjoy the blue skies!

LadyMoriarty:  La Quinta is a pet friendly hotel chain. My husband and I stay there anytime we are traveling with our dogs and we stayed at La Quintas when we moved from NC to NM (which involved moving our cats). Depending on how you cats do in cars, it might be worth a trip to the vet before you move to ask for a prescription of acepromazine (essentially a kitty valium), makes them sleepy for the car trip.

Welcome to Seattle! Definitely wear a raincoat. I don’t know why you wouldn’t.

And you know what? I’ve lived in the NW all of my life (first Portland and now Seattle) and sometimes I use an umbrella. Because good hair days shouldn’t be ruined by a little rain, and sometimes a hood just isn’t good enough. So don’t worry if sometimes you need a little extra protection! 😉

Enjoy this lovely welcome weather! I’ve missed seeing Mt. Rainier!
