UR dress is beautiful..there r always more beautiful dresses out there but ur dress is URS and very special for that reason ! btw who is the designer for ur dress ? u look great in it :)
I agree. Its time to stop looking at other dresses and be happy about what you found. I love the back and the hem of yours especially. Remember why you were drawn to it in the first place and stand up straight with confidence!
Girl, that dress is AMAZING. It's original, and yet traditional- totally feminine. You look gorgeous in it- really. If there is one time to be brutally honest- a anonymous forum is the one. :)
@butterflylover: Thanks! It's an Alfred Angelo. I believe it was a "tester" dress from the designer so I bought it right off the rack. I've never been able to find any other pics of it online, so it's pretty rare I think. The thing I'm questioning now is the sash thingy around the waist.
It's beautiful and looks beautiful on you. I thought the sash gave it personality. If you don't like it, see if a seamstress can remove it safely, so that it can be reattached if it turns out it looks funny without it. Most have a little dress regret now and again, but it'll pass!
Everyone always says Bee's are too nice, so here's my honest opinion. The sash/gem thing says like LOOK MY VAGINA. That's what it looks like to me. Like a satin exercise in vajazzaling.
I love it! The sash is really unique and I think eileen marie is right--it really gives it some personality. If you hate it, you can probably remove it, but if I were you I'd keep it right where it is! The train is really lovely, too, with the lacy hem. Beautiful!
Maybe you can just take the sash off? A good seamstress will certainly be able to answer that question.
I like your dress, esp. the scalloped hem, but the sash looks strange to me.
Well... I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of the sash thing. It's placed in such an awkward area... I don't get it. It looks ok on the back, but it really draws attention to "that area" in the front. Sorry! Like others have said, maybe you can get that part removed. I think it would look so much better! Good luck!
i agree; maybe see if it's possible to take the sash off? if that doesn't work, maybe you could get rid of the front sparkly thing on the sash.
I have to agree that the placement of the sash is just....awkward. I absolutely LOVE the dress minus the sash though!!
I love your dress, but agree the sash looks great in the back and a little off in the front. It isn't terrible, so if you love the dress then don't worry about it.
looks like the dress is long in general. Maybe if the sash was a little higher more at navel it would look better. I think the only problem is the sash. The rest of the dress is beautiful.
I agree with the others. It's a great dress, but the sash is awkward. Do you think it's possible to remove?
I think its a beautiful dress...but i agree with all the comments about the sash...i think it is placed akwardly making it like look like you have a slight belly pooch when you actually dont...i think if you removed the sash the dress would be perfect!
I think it's beautiful and it looks great on you, I LOOOVE the train :) Nothing to worry about!!
Thanks for all the comments ladies! It re-confirmed my feelings about the sash. I am going to go home and take a look at the sash tonight to see if I can remove it.
Honestly, the sash didn't strike me as weird until others pointed it out.
I think the dress is super pretty!
@ILikePink: Go on my WHICH DRESS post what do you think Of my dress choices , I really need some honestly. I think the bees are being to nice I need the griddy truth on my dress.
please , THANK YOU !!!
the dress looks amazing! and you look amazing in it! dont let other pretty dresses distract you, they might look good in the picture, but you might HATE them on you. And then you'll feel like you've wasted more time.
The dress would look better if the sash was higher up. Otherwise it is a beautiful dress
Possibly don't try and remove the sash yourself...get a seamstress to look at it...
You don't want to do permanent damage to your dress!
I don't think it's highlighting your privates, but it does seem slightly oddly placed, and I think if it was just 1-2inches higher it would make all the difference. At the moment it's causing a bit of a shadown under your tummy, which, looking at the rest of you, is totally unfair, as you have a stunning figure, so there shouldn't be any little bumps anywhere.
Also, are you having the dress taken in at all? It seems a bit big for you...
@ILikePink
LOL at "vajazzaling" ...
@ shellyjean
I think that that the dress overall is lovely, but I would definitely remove or replace the sash ... it hits you at exactly the wrong place. Have you seen a sash or details on other dresses that you could get a good seamstress to incorporate into this dress?
I have to say that the dress is lovely & looks good on you, but the sah is in a fairly awkward spot. When I first saw it I thought "shouldn't that be under her bust/across her waist?"
@ILikePink
ROFL, I think vajazzle/ing will always make me giggly, no matter the context.
@WhiteRoseRed: I wasn't saying that I myself would remove it...lol I would NEVER try that! Just saying that I was going to look and see how it was placed on the dress and fortunately, it is actually on there by groupings of tiny threads spaced about 6 inches apart, so I think it can be easily taken off. I have decided to take it to my seamstress when I get alterations and ask her to take it off.
@WhiteRoseRed: Definitely getting it taken in! I had to buy it off the rack, and it's 2 sizes too big for me.
Really, I appreciate everyone's comments. Thanks for being honest and not just nice. It really made me realize how much I do not like the sash. I was fighting it, but after everyone's comments, I'm definitely going to take it off. I tried it on again at home last night, and that was all I didn't like about it. The rest of my dress I LOVE!!
If you can get the sash off it will be gorgeous. That's the only thing I don't like.

It's not full blown yet, but with 80 days to the wedding...I'm not nearly as excited about my dress as I was when I got it. I HATE shopping, so I'm starting to feel like I went with the first one that I really liked without shopping around at various bridal stores. And I see Maggies and Casablancas on here that are soooo pretty, but I never tried any of those on. Basically, I'm just looking for some reassurance.
