Ok so I have tried searching through the Honeymoon boards but haven’t been able to find what I was looking for.
SAFE outside of the resort
Plenty of opportunity for adventure – hiking, exploring, zip lining, etc. We are not “sit on the beach” people although we do like to, just can’t do it ALL day.
Minimal chance of hurricane, etc. in mid-June.
So, where do you recommend for us?

We are going to the Grand Pallidium Colonial Resort in Riveria Maya, Mexico. All inclusive!!! 4 pools, swim up bar, etc. with airfare for 7 days its only $2400!!!

Have you looked into Costa Rica? That seems the best fit for what you are looking for.

Thanks all, keep the suggestions coming!

Have you thought about Belize?
Question, if you are looking for an all inclusive, would you even be going outside the resort all that much? Typically they shuttle you to and from any events and you dont deal with “real world” much. And since they give you all alcohol and food, you would probably not want to go to far for too long to be back for a meal.

We just want to be able to go out and explore the area, not necessarily eat/drink other places. Taking hikes, doing zip-lines, stuff like that.
Have not thought about Belize…looking that up right now!

@lefeymw: I have been looking at Belize, but have not been able to find a completely all inclusive resort there. Do you know of one that includes everything? Meals, snacks, drinks (both regular and alcoholic)?
@kswiftbride: Also try looking into the Dominican Republic! It’s amazing there!

@shannonh32: Sorry, I dont know of one. I have never stayed in an all-incusive and probably wont. Just not our style, but keep looking! Belize is amazing.

@kswiftbride: You pretty much described what my FH and I were looking for in a HM! We are going to Jade Mountain resort in St. Lucia. I hear St. Lucia is gorgeous, and there are a lot of activities available. Jade Mountain sits right at the foot of the Pitons (2 volcanic mountains in St. Lucia). I think they have a non-all inclusive option, but we are getting the all inclusive option for convenience sake. Each room in the resort also comes with your own personal butler! Check it out. 🙂

I second Belize and Costa Rica. I have several close friends and family members who went to Costa Rica, and man, every single day was an adventure for them!
We stayed at the Hard Rock Resort in Punta Cana, DR. It was beautiful, all inclusive, and super fun, and there were lots of opportunities to parasail, snorkel, and scuba dive. However, I wouldn’t really recommend leaving the resort without a tour guide. We mostly stayed in the resort (fun night life, concerts, casino, massages, eating) except for two day trips to differnet islands in the Caribbean.
