This is my first post, as I’m desperately needing guidance. I just don’t know what I want! He has already picked out the center stone (1 ct RB), but I keep changing my mind about the rest. I don’t want a solitaire because I want a little more for my 6.5 fingers (not quite sure because the last time I got it sized, it was mid-summer and my fingers were a bit swollen).
I’m finding it really hard to choose because I just can’t picture what some of them would look like on. I’ve searched and searched on the boards and found similar, but I’m still not sure. I wish finding the right ring was as easy as finding the right guy! I know I’ll love whatever he gets, but I am having a hard time giving him guidance on what I would prefer.
Also, for those that have halos/small diamonds on their ring, do you know if it is generally custom for the jeweler to guarantee replacement of any small stones that fall out?
I want something unique, but yet still classic and not too busy. I’m fairly sure I want a blank shank (I’m still learning the lingo- I don’t want stones around the band part, please correct me if I’m wrong). If you have anything similar, please feel free to post. I’m open to all suggestions/advice. Please help!
Option 1: Round with unique halo
Option 2: Round with pear side stones
Option 3: Round with halo and tri cluster side stones (leaning less towards)
Option 4: Round with unique halo- similar to the first, but slightly different

I vote for the first one, especially considering you have two options that are similar!
I voted for the halo with cluster sidestones, but I don’t particularly like any of them. I’m not a fan of halos.

It’s between 1 and 3 for me. I really like the uniqueness of the first one though. I’d go with that one 🙂

That first one is wicked pretty, I love it!

@aei0002: LOVE the halo on that first one! It’s really pretty and unique.

@aei0002: FI and I both vote for #3 🙂

I like 1 and 2. I think 3 is really ‘busy’… Maybe now is also the time to reflect on what possibilities youd have for a wedding ring to match the ones you like…

@aei0002: I love 1 and 4! But just curious, have you tried on any engagement rings in person? Personally that helped me a lot!

I think option 2 is the most classic (I love round centres with pear sides…sometimes wish I got that), and I think option 1 is the most unique. Either would be gorgeous! I’m not really a fan of option 3 – there is just too much going on.

I love 1 and 4!!! Where are they from?:)

@misstwinkle: I agree, three is a little “busy.” I originally considered just a round center stone (no halo) with three slightly larger side stones than are on picture 3. However, I chose not to go with that one because my good friend (and roommate while she was engaged) has the exact ring. I just did not like the idea of getting an almost identical ring, especially since I”m aiming for something a little more unique.
I’ve thought about the coordinating wedding ring issue, which is what has complicated the issue even more. It’s the probably the main issue I have with #1. I’d love any suggestions.

@luckylady3090: They are a Harry Winston design, but I found them here: http://thebridesguide.marthastewartweddings.com/2013/10/custom-engagement-ring-how-to-terms.html
I haven’t been able to find anything similar anywhere, which is nice, since I want unique. However it’s also a pain because I’d like to see what it looks like on someone’s finger!
