I know there have been a few vaccination threads on the bees before, but I just saw this video recently circulating Facebook.
I don’t know that this video will prompt people to change their stance on vaccines, but I thought it was an interesting way of presenting the information.

Sums it up pretty well I’d say.

@bmo88: Ah. I love that show! And yes, so true. I am 100% pro-vaccination.

@bmo88: yep! That’ll do! 🙂

@bmo88: All I can say is YES. And add to that that if you DONT vaccinate your child and they DO get one of those diseases they could give it to a child who CANT get vaccinated because they are too young to get it yet or have cancer or something where they cant be vaccinated so being anti-vaccinate fucks up more than just your childs life. Ah Penn and Teller are so freaking awesome. Their bullshit episode where they convince people to sign a petition banning dihydrogen oxide at an earth rally is pretty freaking awesome too

@excitedtobeMRSF: Haha, I will have to look up that video!

@bmo88: I wish there were more options. I’m not anti-vaccine, but nor am I rushing out the door to get my flu shot — or bash people and call them ignorant because they dont vaccinate.
There are some vaccines that I would definitely give to my kids at age and health appropriate times. But I would do so with caution and research– just not blindly because a pharmaceutical company really supports x# of vaccines at one time at only so many months of age.
If we educate ourselves, we will make the right decisions for our own families and hopefully people can do that without judgement or criticism either way.

Pro-vaccination when it’s reasonably safe. I don’t think 100% of people should get all vaccinations.

YES! That was awesome. I realy hate the anti vaccination argument. If we don’t vaccinate, the chances that your child will develop one of these diseases is higher than the chance that they’ll have some allergic reaction to a vaccination!

The title is misleading, it makes it sound like the video takes an anti-vaccination stance.

@bmo88: so awesome, and dead right. the anti-vaxxers need to go.

@tampalove35: I don’t think that puts you in the “anti-vaccination” camp, though. You aren’t sitting there saying vaccines cause freckles or whatever because Jenny McCarthy SAID so…you’re saying, “We should make informed decisions regarding our children.” The information out there is going to tell you to vaccinate.

@MsJ2theZ: That really depends on the individual and the vaccine though, doesn’t it? There’s good science behind the reasons for people being cautioned about vaccines if they have had an allergic reaction previously, are allergic to eggs, are allergic to a component of the vaccine, etc.
