I buy grass-fed, hormone free, free-range beef and naturally-raised chickens. FH’s family also hunts for our meat. We avoid factory-farmed meat. Besides being inhumane, factory-farming uses more antibiotics than what is used to treat human disease. Here ia a good article about antibiotic reisitance in the New York Times.

@trueblue14: And free range normally tastes better too because they eat a more natural diet than standard livestock. I also prefer wildgame because the taste is worlds better than standard livestock. Even my dog notices a diffference when we cook wildgame; for standard burger meat he stays on the couch but for venison burger he is off the couch and in the kitchen sniffing aorund as soon as we open the package.

@trueblue14: What’s the difference between free-range beef and other beef? I know Canadian (or at least Alberta) beef and American beef are fed differently. It would be interesting to have a side by side taste test.
