SO was out of town this weekend visiting her family, and her mom gave her THIS beautiful little antique ring for me! (She knew SO wouldn’t wear it).
I don’t know any details/specs, but it is stamped 14k/18k (?), the ring is yellow gold and the illusion setting/head is white gold. It’s a square setting and is holding (guessing here) a round diamond that is approximately .25 carats. It’s from the 1930’s and was SO’s great aunt’s engagement ring!!!! She passed away and left it to SO because she didn’t have any children.
It needs to be sized down, but I will be wearing it on my right hand! Even though I don’t have any other yellow gold, I love this! What do you bees think?? (Sorry for the phone pictures).

That’s beautiful and what a wonderful gesture!!! I love family jewelry. I have only a couple of pieces, one of which is my grandmother’s original wedding set which is yellow gold with a very similar illusion setting and stones on the side. Also a teeeeeeny wedding band and the whole thing is soldered together and won’t pass the first knuckle on my pinky finger. I’d guess it’s a 3.5 or 4.

so pretty! I’d love for an heirloom to come out of the woodworks, but I don’t think that will happen lol

How touching! Such a gorgeous ring!
I love antique family rings. I was totally surprised when, at my wedding, my great aunt gave me my great grandmother’s wedding ring as a wedding gift. She had had a diamond replaced in it, had it polished and cleaned. It was seriously the best wedding gift I could have recieved. It’s beautiful, and sentimental.
