OK first, I know this is a crazy sounding, and it’s quite possibly all in my head, but just hear me out.
My husband and I started TTC our first baby 10 days ago, the same day I stopped taking my BC. We have had ‘intimate encounters’ several times since then. 3 days ago I started cramping and spotting a tiny bit. I’ve never spotted before, but though it may be from stopping my BC. I took a HPT and it was negative.
For the past 3 days I have been cramping and lightly spotting (mostly when I wake up in the morning) and today it was more brownish.
Is it possible to already be pregnant? I have an OBGYN appt on Tuesday. I hate to not drink over a holiday weekend with parties scheduled, but I don’t want to risk it!
Am I crazy? Was it too early for a HPT? I have never done this before!

@VirgoFrancesca: Too soon for a pregnancy test. Drink in moderation and enjoy your weekend.

I had very similar symptoms coming off of birth control. It could just be a withdrawl bleed. I wouldn’t freak out too much. I’m not saying it isn’t possible to be pregnant, just don’t know that it would happen the first day off the pill.

WAY too early for a pregnancy test. If you’ve only been of BC for 10 days, you probably havne’t even ovulated yet. No ovulation yet = no pregnancy yet.
The spotting is likely from coming off the BC. It could also be spotting due to ovulation – some women experience that. My guess is it’s from the hormonal changes coming off of BC (since that is much more common)

@VirgoFrancesca: It’s too soon for a HPT. It is possible you’re pregnant. I’m a drink til it’s pink person, so I don’t think a few drinks will be any harm. I wouldn’t go binge drinking. Maybe having a drink will signal if you’re pregnant or not – during my TWW, I had a beer and was so nauseated by it I could only take a few sips! Good luck!
ETA – just saw you just stopped BC 10 days ago. It’s pretty unlikely you’re pregnant. I think it’s typical to ovulate 2 weeks after you stop, but you really never know what can happen. Every person is different!

The same thing happened to me when I came off BC a month and a half ago. Its most likely because of coming off of the pills. It’s very unlikely you’re pregnant, but, you never know. I’d drink in moderation.
