Hi!  I just saw this post.  Our date is also 11/26/11.  We are keeping Thanksgiving very low key this year.  Both of our families live at least an hour away, so we are going to do our own dinner on Thanksgiving.  I’m sure there are going to be so many last minute things to do too!  Plus, I figured we can celebrate with the rehearsal dinner which is the 25th.

Nope, you are not alone!  Our wedding is at Franklin Plaza in Troy, NY.  Where is yours?  What time are you having it?  When are you sending out your invites?  Sorry for all of the questions, it is just nice to chat with someone who is on the same schedule!

Ooh, I just discovered this thread too–was thinking I might be alone in the crazy Thanksgiving wedding idea! Nice to know I’ve got date twins out there!

Wow, the beach will be so pretty that time of year!  Our ceremony is starting at 5:30.  I have been debating on when to send the invites out, but right after Labor Day is a good idea.  I’m going to need plenty of time to send them out! (We are sending them out on our own & have over 200 people).  How many guests do plan on having?

Planning is going pretty well.  I still have to take care of flowers, that is my biggest stress right now.  My fiance hasn’t gone for his tux yet either!

We are going on a “mini-moon” right after the wedding to Foxwoods for 4 days at their new hotel, we’ve been there before and had a good time. It is our busy time for our jobs, so the real honeymoon will be in January when it slows down, either a cruise or all inclusive resort somewhere warm!  Where are you honeymooning?

@UK Bride: You are not alone with the Thanksgiving weekend wedding idea!  How is your planning coming along?  Where are you getting married?

@Mrs. Chai: Ha ha, planning’s coming along okay…

My fiance is British, so I’m getting married in the UK. I just moved to London last month, so I’m just now getting my bearings and have had a full few weeks with meeting all of my vendors for the first time! FI has met most of them, and those he hadn’t had come with great recommendations, but it was wonderful to get some stuff ironed out and actually see our venue for the first time. We’re getting married in a church in a seaside town called Bournemouth, and our reception will be at a grand old Victorian hotel that’s perched on cliffs overlooking the sea.

All the biggies are done–dress, venue, caterer, photographer, rental company, lighting company, florist, band, officiant, church, and invites (all printed and out-of-country ones sent). I think I’ve sort-of hit the insecurity wall with all the little details that need to be wrapped up before the big day and am now worrying about how everything will come together!

Sounds like your planning is coming along great. Wouldn’t worry about the tux–my FI doesn’t have one either! What are your colors, etc?

Said it before, but I’m so excited to have date twins!

@UK Bride:  Sorry for the delay!  I’m not on here much…  Your venue sounds lovely! Sounds like you have gotten the major things checked off on your planning, good for you!

Our venue is a historic bank with lots of marble, the old teller counter is now the bar and the vault is the coat check.  It has tons of character!  It will also be tastefully decorated for Christmas for our wedding.  This has helped with the planning because we won’t need as much decorations/flowers as expected.  This also helped to determine our colors, which are hunter green and ivory.

I’m so glad to see other 11/26/11 brides on here as well!  Are you doing a rehearsal dinner on Friday night?

@Mrs. Chai: Ooh, hunter green and ivory sound lovely–I actually considered using hunter as an accent color… do you have any inspiration pics for your color scheme? Love to see them…
