Hi Twin!

I’m 12/31/12 too! I was starting to think I was the only one, lol.  I think we’ve got one heck of a plan to ring in 2013! We’re doing some pretty traditional NYE stuff (fireworks, sparklers, confetti and black eye peas) Good Luck! So happy to finally have a twin- let me know if you want to chat ideas!

Totally missed this thread earlier, I am a 12-31-12 bride 🙂

We are doing lots of glitter (I had added to glitter to pretty much everything except the linens. But I saw a pic of “glitter linens” somewhere and would have totally done that if I knew where to get them and were not too expensive)

@Nic01:  I did the same thing this last year. I emailed NYE brides from last year for advice on when to send invites, etc. It was really helpful

I’m a 12-31-12 bride too! Yay! I always knew I wanted to get married on New Year’s Eve and now it’s actually happening! 🙂

I’m doing blue, black, and silver as my color scheme. I’m mixing winter and New Years Eve Party together as my theme. Snowflakes, new years eve favors, etc…

I hope you find some cool ideas and Congratulations on choosing your date, twinsie!

Hi twins! We are doing champagnes, ivory, nude and gold shimmer…I think it’s going to be really pretty.

Question though, did any of you get any push back about the date? Most people don’t seem to mind, but fiance’s parents HATE it and keep suggesting we change it……

@Soon2bMrsWB:  No push back from me. Everyone loves the idea. The day is special to us because it’s the day we met.

I am a 2012 new years eve bride too! and we are doing country/ chic!!! we are mixing burlap/ dolies/ lace  in with a bit of silver and crystal for the NYE aspect. I am in a Australia so NYE is warm here  our venue is a converted old church so it will be inside/ outside.

this is our venue:

we will be using these bar tables, chairs and chandeliers (all from our suppliers website so they are the actual ones)

then im planing to do fairy lights like this:

and a bit of burlap/ Doily bunting!

(sorry pics are so big)

Hope this gives you some ideas!

@Soon2bMrsWB All our guests thought it was a great idea, we are inviting approx 130 people, we sent out save the dates being New Years and so far only have had 3 people sais they may not be able to make it. And one of those is a friend in the Army who will be overseas! We actually came up with the idea because in november last year us and all our friends spent ages trying to think of something to do for New Years, so this year its all sorted!

Hi Twins!  We’re getting really close!  We’re doing all the traditional new years eve things too.  What are you doing as the placecards?  I saw a thing on the knot and on martha stewart using noisemakers with the person’s name on it and a hang tag with the table number on it.  Pretty cute!

@kgarvin01: For escort cards we are doing frosted votives with everyone’s name in really pretty calligraphy.  My invite time line looks like this: Oct. 15- mail out (most etiquette sites say 6-8 weeks, but I think Martha Stewart said 10 was okay if you’re doing a holliday-Also I wanted to get it out before everyone’s mailbox is loaded with holiday cards) RSVP due date: I wanted Thanksgiving, but my boy wants November 13th (his birthday….).  I have to have my final numbers in by Dec. 10.

@katemoore88: I think they are finally pretty much over the NYE thing. One of the reasons we picked it as our date was to make sure my fiance’s sister is back from Afghanistan.  Once they realized that was a major reason the backed off with all the date hate! lol….I’m so excited and your day looks like it’s going to be lovely!
