Sorry if this is already on the Bee somewhere, I was searching but couldn’t really find anything. Wondering if any bees have bought a modular home. DH and I are looking to do some research and I thought first hand advice would be helpful.
If you haven’t bought one, what about someone you know? Or maybe you’ve already looked into it?
Looking for the good, bad and ugly here, bees! Thank you 😀

@Mrs. Mustang: I’ve never purchased one, but I did get to see a really nice one in person that a friend of mine purchased. He lives out in the middle of the mojave desert, so it made way more sense to build a home like this rather than have to ship all the workers, materials and equipment to build a traditional home.
The house itself is very nice, and if you aren’t really looking, it’s hard to tell that it is a modular home. There are seams in certain walls of the house that are still visible, even though they are hidden along baseboards and crown moulding. The house is a 1 story 4 bed 3.5 bath I think, and their master bathroom is amazing, it looks like a resort spa. This is his forever home (it’s just him and his wife), so I don’t think he was really concerned about resale.

I don’t have one but there is a very big postive. The modules are all built indoors so nothing is every subjected to the elements (rain, snow, broiling heat, etc). Because of this they can stay on schedule with construction and not have down days because of weather-related incidents.
