I have a tattoo and have tanned a lot, just not in a tanning bed.   That being said I’ve applied sunscreen to it before tanning and moisturizer after showering after tanning and my tattoo is still really vibrant.

I just googled "protecting tattoo in tanning bed" and found the following link that I hope is helpful!

I apply Carmex lip balm to mine.  It’s got SPF in it and it’s easy apply.

I tan every year – sensibly, always with sunscreen on the face. Twenty minutes max, except if I am by water all day and then it is sunscreen everywhere. I have an inherited skin condition and I am amongst the few that a dermatologist will actually recommend tanning to!

That being said, I have never done anything in regards to the tattoos. Mine are over 13 years old and have little if any fading. In fact, I think a tan makes them look better and I love showing them off!
