I picked a different dress but an Anjolique is one of the first dresses I tried on. It was one of the hardest to get out of my head until I found my dress. The fabric felt amazing and it the dress seemed like it was put together really well. The reason I didn't go with it was because I'm having an outdoor wedding and the one I loved was super heavy with a lot of fabric in the bottom layers and I figured I'd get really hot and tired carrying that weight around. I don't have buying experience but they seem like really quality dresses. Good luck!
I'm an Anjolique bride! My wedding isn't until next year but I got my dress super early (due to a change in date) so it's just sitting in the shop for now. I didn't specifically go for Anjolique dresses though. I frankly didn't know until I signed the invoice that the designer was Anjolique. I have to admit, my dress looked different from the picture on the website. It was the way the model was posed; it just didn't show off the dress well enough, IMO.
I was an Anjolique bride! It's not too common a designer! I also wore Anjolique 1010, as did another hostess, Driftslikesmoke.
That dress is absolutely stunning!! Were you bees impressed with the quality of the dress? I have really, really, fallen in love with them! Also, were the alterations (if any) difficult?
How long did it take (guesstimate) for your dresses to come in?
i am about to buy my anjolique, the wedding is may 2010. i didn't go after an anjolique, but fell in love with style 930! the fabric is to die for, and the gathering of the fabric is so slimming! here's a pic of me in the dress. i have not heard anything negative about the designer and the prices are reasonable...
LOVE that one! I really fell in love with 2055 but I can't find it ANYWHERE. I would wear it without the jacket, but it seems to be MIA. Luckily, I really did find like 12 that I just loved!
I bought my dress in the proper size and it required minimal alterations. However, I wore a bridal size 10, and the sample I tried on was a 12, so it was pretty easy to figure out what to get. If you're trying on a dress farther away from your true size, there's more guesswork, but I think that's true no matter what dress you're buying. The fabric is just sumptuous and the ruching on the waist is super slimming!
I had to get the dress hemmed (I am 5'6, and it was still very very long) and bustled and I had the bust taken in a few inches. Otherwise it fit like a glove.
I'm getting style #921...should be in in a few days actually!!! I ordered it in the beginning of May.
LOVE 921 too! I can just FEEL like one of these Anjolique dresses is the one!
My style is 967. It comes with this detachable poofy train but I'm not going to use that. Not sure what I'll use it for yet.
I ordered mine July 3rd and it's ship date is October 1st. With a wedding in March I am hoping I have plenty of time for it to come in and to have alterations done!
I was an Anjolique bride as well, styl 1010. And absolutely loved mine. They are somewhat hard to locate. I found mine here at a local store and then found it online at Victoria's Bridal Couture for $350 less. And bought it right up. The fabric was fantastic (silk), the manufacturing was great -- everyone commented on it and I couldn't be happiere.
Attached is a photo of it.
I am considering selling it - so if anyone wants it, let me know.
I was browsing the Anjolique website and I found a few I can't wait to try on. I am not trying on dresses until October.. can't wait. so glad to hear you all had great experiences.
I loved my Anjolique 1010, it was comfortable, I did not want to take it off!! It only took about 2 months to arrive at the bridal shop, and this was not Rush shipping. I say go for it!! Pics below:
I'm getting married in style 1010 next weekend. I can hardly wait! I ordered a size 4 which I was super nervous about since they say that you usually go up in Bridal sizes and that's actually my normal dress size. It fit like a glove. If I was wearing heals (I'm wearing flats) I wouldn't have even have had to have it hemmed (I'm 5' 7.5").
Wow! Lots of 1010s! I have a question for you ladies... if you had/are having your wedding outdoors, are you worried about your train getting dirty? How are you combatting it?
I'm looking at Anjolique dresses myself!! I haven't heard of this designer before I saw an ad in the Bridal magazines I'm glad I did because there's a local bridal shop that sells this line, so that's exciting for me. Okay for you who have tried on the dresses, 1010 was an option for me and I see how you feel about i, but did you try #1020, #1073, #1012, #1014, #965...as you can tell all the dresses I'm interested in have that ruched pattern that I love...seems like it will hide those last 5 lbs. that may not come off in time...Lol!
Whiteflight, I agree - Anjoliques (or at least the 1010) run true to size which is odd for bridal gowns. And I'm 5'7 with heels - they BARELY hemmed it. I don't even think a cintimeter.
Just bought the Anjolique 921 today! I never thought a dress could bring me to tears. It fits perfectly. It was also the first time I had heard of this designer, but I'm glad I found it! I've fallen in love all over again. lol
I wore style #2055. I modified it though to my tastes. I did not get the jacket, and I removed the beading and added my own brooch. It was so comfortable.
i got 1027 and didnt even realize who the designer was at first! i went to the running of the brides in NYC ready to try on every and any dress! my bridesmaid grabbed this one and i put all of the other "maybes" right back to where they came from! i LOVE my dress. i am short (4"11) and will DEF need a lot of hem work...however, my particular style has no beads/detail along the bottom so it will be much easier to hem. Most of the work is on the chest and stomach areas. I love my dress! So happy with it! and YES- the fabric feels amazing (my favorite is the rouching detail on the stomach as well!)
Hi- just went to the store and ordered my Anjolique 1014! I haveing minor second thoughts- not about the dress itself, but whether I should have bought it in a petite or not. I am quite small (only 4"11). The woman at the store insists that the only difference between the petite and regular size is the length- 3inches shorter. She said the torso was the same porportion on the regular and petite size- Can anyone confirm this?
She also said that she didn't think I should order the petite size as regardless, I would still need the bottom hemmed. And she said ordering the petite was an extra $150.
I've attached 2 pics of me in the dress- should I order the petite (if in fact the torso is shorter on the petite)? Does the ruching hit me in the wrong places?

Hi Bees! I posted this earlier in beehive then belatedly realized it should be here. I'm taking into serious consideration purchasing an Anjolique dress, so if anyone has has worn/is wearing/tried on/liked/didn't like an Anjolique dress, I'd love to hear about your experience!
