hey thanks for the full length pic - awesome photos! Let us know how you go with the changing of the length :-)
HEllo ladies I am back from my seamstress appt. Here are the things I am getting done:
1. getting cups sown in
2.have it taken in down to the hip to get the shape i want
3.getting rid of the train
4.making the hem shorter
5.pressed and steamed
I really love Anna (my seamstress) she said it should be done by end of June :) I can not wait here are pics of me all pinned up :)
i do not look so hot cs it was so hot and i slept very little :)

I fell in LOVE with that dress when I saw it online, but in the ivory color.
But I couldn't find it anywhere to try it on :(
miss-spunkin : i am sorry u did not get to try it on..i tired it on in white and now i have it in Ivory..what dress r u wearing now?
Awesome! I reckon I will def get rid of the train, I am glad you said that because I didn't even consider that as a option for some reason!
End of June huh - only a few weeks then you will have your perfect Anniston!
nzbride: i think u should my seamstress even said with this dress it look better if it gets to flow without the train dragging it down..and bustle will just not look good so i say go for it :)
I am wearing an allure dress, and I do love it, I really do, but I was sad I only got to try on ONE maggie dress, even though three shops I went to were specifically to try on maggie dresses :(
I'm so happy to have found this group - I am also an Anniston gal !!! As soon as I put it on I knew it was THE one !
Your pics are fantaxtic - I just had one question - is this one the ivory over ivory with pewter accents ?? That is the same colour I bought but its hard to tell from the pics !
Hi Beckynn - I'm pretty sure tha is Ivory over Ivory as that is the same I brought and the white is actually quite white.
When does your arrive? You have to put pics up! :-)
Hello and welcome Beckynn..as nzbride said it is ivory over ivory..it really is a light ivory thu :)
I will soon start a new post with more of the accessories:) so watch out for that..i was going to continue this post but i do not want it to get TOO long hehehe
any updates from the fellow Anniston brides here? would love to c some pics..i can not wait to c my dress again end of June..when it will hopefully fit me perfectly :)
i fell so in love with the Anniston dress i bought it WITHOUT trying it on. now i am mad nervous. but it's soooo beautiful how could i resist? i think i got 3 more weeks for it to come in.
you said you were cutting off the train. how come?
@butterfly
you said your dress is ivory, so is my dress. but my dress looked more peach-gold (at least to me)???? maybe the lighting was deceiving me....
i hope not! it really looked nice in that color. the ivory is nice, but does it have more color to it?
@butterfly
I live in the caribbean and the wedding dress options are very limited. Instead of flying to the states to hunt for a ready-made dress, I took the risk of ordering the Anniston in white - size 8 - from a dealer over here without trying one on or ANY wedding dress for that matter (coming from a family with a history of very few weddings, the whole thing felt kind of weird to me). This dealer just informed me that my dress would arrive at the end of June (my wedding is July!!!) and I am sooo disappointed and now extremely nervous especially when they didn't take me on with my request to rush it.
The only thing keeping me sane are pics like yours with real people wearing this dress and it looks sooo hot on everyone I've seen that has posted their pic on the web.
So my question is... You said you tried on the Anniston in white? How do you find it looked? Also, my measurements are 34-27-39! and the store told me I should get the size 8... from purchasing a size 8 with your measurements, do you think the size 8 will do for me? (not that I have much of a choice right now.)
Ooh, and are you wearing any of those poofy things under your dress? or are you wearing it as is
Sorry for the long post and multiple questions
@TashaWilson: I understand the love for Anniston very well and i can tell u you will love it even more in person the pictures do not do it justice!! Make sure u post ur pics after u try it on ;)
I am getting rid of the train because i do not like trains in my culture there is no walking down the aisle not the mention i am already married and we will not have another ceremony..so i want to move around and dance without stepping on my skirt or having other watch their step for me :)
humm r u sure your dress is Ivory? the one with more color to it is gold which is what is pictures on the MS website...i can tell u my dress is mainly the same as it looks in the picture..the ivory is really a light ivory very close to white :) the part that looks more ivory is the tulle skirt...i say wait and c it in person :) but lighting can be deceiving
@octorbervacation: thu my opinion maybe biased but this dress is BEAUTIFUL and makes u feel beautiful and SEXY :)
When i tried it on in white i actually liked it my skin color thu pale has lots of yellow undertones (i am Middle Eastern) so it did not wash me out..it is very white while the ivory is a softer version of it :) it looks beautiful in all of the colors :)
The measurement u gave me i can tell u u will be fine u might even need to take it in a little so i suggest looking for a good seamstress in ur area..we are the same measurement in the bust area an i have very full breast (not big just full) and i has lots of room in the size 8 even with the corset all laced up. My waist is 24.5 so u should be fine in that area..hips should be fine too unless u want is to be really hugging u my hip measurement is 37 and my seamstress suggested to take it in even more in that are so you can c the in the back area :) but again u got more lovely hips to fill it in :)
I think you will be fine with cups sewn in given ur other measurements remember corset backs r magical they make it fit to ur body very nicely ;)
my dress in the pictures is as it is..and i do not want more puff u should try it both ways and c which one u prefer :)
I hope i was some help and NEVER be sorry for long posts this is y we r on this site to be able to help each other..i hope to hear from u and c ur pics too ;)
@Butterfly
Thanks for responding
I requested the size six as I wanted it to fit very exact but this girl at the store insisted on the eight. Alot of clothes tend to fit me very big on top so I really hope that's the only adjustment as I am really nervous about the skill of their in-house seamstress. Adjustments are included in the price of my Anniston ($5900 TT works out to roughly $934 US) and as I said before, the options down here are very limited, so I'll let them do all the adjustments.
Sigh, I just really underestimated this whole wedding thing.
@octobervacation:
U r welcome..I hope that is the only adjuster u will need cs the rest u need to trust ur seamstress to be at ease..y do u not trust their work thu? Have u seen the work they have done before? Usually the in house ones must be very talented because the stores reputation depends on it :)
ohh honey i did the same thing..we has around 2 yrs to plan the wedding we really started doing the REAL MAIN planning 6 months before the wedding thinking we had time...so now whenever we know ppl getting engaged we let them know IT IS NOT EASY..and i tell the bride know to start looking for a dress as of tomorrow hehhe ...We are doing the whole planning by ourselves just the two of us and it gets crazy sometimes :) We are both almost finished thu :0
ps: I will be picking up my dress next Saturday (CAN NOT WAIT) hopefully everything fits perfectly and i can take it home..then i will start a new board about the LAST fitting and what i am planning to wear with the dress :)
keep ur eyes out for that..i will link it here for other Anniston brides as well (L)
Hello ladies..i have posted my final pics of my dress and some accessories on this post :
http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/i-finally-have-my-dress
hope u will follow up with me :)
@bottlehalffull: I went to try my gown on about two weeks ago and I'm thrilled !! It fit like a glove - so much so that I don't need any alterations AT ALL - the seamstress was rather confunded on that one ;) I am getting a bustle put in though as I want to dance the night away !
I only have about six weeks till the wedding now and I can't wait !
I didn't take any pics of the fitting but I'll be sure to post some after the wedding ~
@Beckynn: I am glad ur dress fits u great..i am interested in seeing a pic of ur bustle can not wait to c ur wedding pics :)
sooo i was very excited about my dress coming sometime this weekend. i found out that my dress will not be here until july 20th! are you serious? that is precisely 2 weeks (technically 1 week) before my wedding. i am soooo upset. grant it, i ordered the dress in may and paid extra money for rushing. now i am anxious. lets hope this dress fits like a glove!
@butterflylover: yours too !! Our weddings are only six days apart
@tashawilson: OMG that is terrible I got my dress in May too..because i did not want to rush order it and have enough time for alterations..etc i searched high and low to buy it from somebody else..finally a bride on here (and graiglist) had it..she got it and then changed her mind so ordered another dress (her wedding was May 31st) so i got lucky..i am keeping my fingers crossed u will get ur dress and it will fit u so perfectly u will need no alterations (or very minor ones that take only few hrs to fix) ...good luck :)
@Beckynn: YES and i got bunch of DIY projects to do...house renovations (we do everything mainly ourselves minus the roof and the windows) DOOOOO NOOOT go together..i am sooo tired right now..and my head is killing me (i get severe migraines) but i rather suffer more now and finish 2-3 weeks before the wedding so i am not so tired on the wedding day..are u done with ur wedding related projects? i am still waiting on 76% of my RSVPs and it is annoying i have my side of the family and friends (they r out of country since i lived in USA before) tell me their ticket info as their RSVP so i am not counting them in..the rest i HAVE the RSVP from his side are the ones who have turned into both our friends..aside from 1 couple who i have only met once :( and another i have never met but they consider emailing us saying "WE WILL BE THERE FOR SURE" as RSVP...ok i am done complaining hehhe hope u r having better luck with ur RSVP
@butterflylover: Holy smokes !!! You have a ton going on ! Everybody has already replied to our r.s.v.p's and most of everything is done - I basically chalk that up to having an incredibly small wedding (36 people) although all my family has to come over from Vancouver Island and all his famly are coming in from Toronto ! I'm amazed myself considering we really only decided to actually get hitched this August, instead of August 2011, in April but everything has just fallen in to place :) Our guest list is so small that if people didn't r.s.v.p in a timely fashion I just called or emailed them reminding them (discreetly) that if they were coming that they should book a hotel room as things may get booked up and reminde them to respond to the r.s.v.p as soon as they could. I am just in excited mode now - we do have to prepare our favours but other than that we're close to done
I hope your planning goes smoothly from here on out ! I don't evny you with your house renovations but when it's all over you'll forget all about the upheaval, I'm sure ! When it all gets to be a bit too much just take a deep breath and think about your dress and that should get you through it !
@Beckynn: That sounds lovely..we wanted a small wedding like that..and on my side i only have the ones i love..but since he has been living here forever and is loved by many we ended up having a much bigger guest list..and that is after we cut many ppl out :) I am planning to send a reminder email for those who NEED to RSVP :)
what are u doing for favors? that was something we spent a LOT of time on but in the end my mother took care of it..plus we r having giveaways for the games in the wedding :)
true what u said about renovations i am looking forward to having some furniture in the house and decorating it...we are so close to being done with the upstairs..(we got a WHOLE huge basement to fix next year)..i have to confess the dress and the whole bridal look makes me so happy so i do think about it A LOT hahaha..i just got my bolero today will be updating my other post after this..check it out if u want :) good luck to u too :)
Hi ladies! I was an Anniston bride on July 11th, 2010. I purchased the Ivory Lace over Light Gold/Pewter Accent in a size 6. I will try to post a few pics to show you my accessories. Since it has a beautiful beaded corset I decided to not wear a necklace. I wore a simple crystal bracelet and tear drop earrings. I wore my hair half up half down similar to the model on Maggie's website. It was my dream dress and I am happy that I found it after only trying on 4 other dresses. I am also interested in selling it so that someone else can enjoy it so if you know of anyone who might be interested let me know! thanks ladies and happy wedding planning! :)

Hello!
Anyone with an Anniston that they are willing to sell? I've fallen desperately in love with this dress!
My Anniston comes in July 5th! I cannot WAIT!!! I bought Sorrelli jewelery to wear, but I havent yet decided on a veil. I love the dress so much :)
I am so happy to c the new Anniston brides here I am going to post picture of my wedding A YEAR AGO OMG how times flies!! You all look great!
