The office at my complex recieves all packages. I’ve come in days later to pick up a package and it’s never been a problem. I’ve never had one disappear. They have failed to give me slips notifying me of a package, but I always know when I’m getting one, so that wasn’t a big deal.

I don’t really know what you can do either. Is there anything in print about the policy?

@bowsergirl:

I don’t have that problem because the mail carrier will put a notice in our mailbox. The notice will include info about where to pick up the package.

@atreyu547:  YES. So annoying. SO and I just moved to our first apartment, and it has no front office. So we have to receive UPS and FedEx in person. I have no idea what USPS does. My mom sent me a package two weeks ago with some nice stuff and I never received it : I know our neighbor had a missing package too…

I live in a townhouse, and within the last year we’ve had problems with USPS and FedEx never leaving our packages, and leaving a slip to pick them up at the post office instead. If we can’t get there within two days, they ship it back. It’s horrible! We’ve started to ship everything to DH’s office so he can get them between 9 – 5.

UPS just leaves our packages on our doorstep and when it’s USPS they leave a note saying our package is in the office and I’ve gone in there days after with no problem, we rarely check our mail lol maybe you can get a pobox?

We have a concierge/doorman that accepts all packages (even when we are home), but before we moved into our current place, we always ordered packages by courier and included our phone number in the secondary address line. Couriers were more diligent about getting packages to you.

We don’t have issues where we live. Generally our packages are left right at our door. Just in case, though, we have them delivered to our work instead and our receptionist lets us know when they come in. That way we’re guaranteed to get them.

for the last few months in our last apartment, we’d get other people’s mail, and other people would get ours. apparently they changed over the entire office staff, and the new staff sorted everyone’s mail into the wrong boxes. it was absurd.

I’ve heard too many stories about people stealing packages, getting lost, etc. that I got a UPS box and I love it! It’s like $200 a year I think (you can pay in 3 month increments) and they take Fed Ex, UPS, etc. unlike a PO box which does not. They also send me an email or text whenever I have a package so I don’t have to go check for no reaosn. I highly recommend it and love having the peace of mind, especially with more expensive stuff.

our smaller packages are put in a lock box, and the key is put in our locked mail boxes. Bigger packages are left at our door. I’ve never missed one, I’ve had our neighbors on our door before but just placed it by their door which was directly across the hall so no big deal.

We normally don’t order things that need to be signed as both of us will normally be at work. If we do get something thqt needs to be signed we make sure one of us is home. For example when we ordered a new parrot cage, that required we sign and be present for it.
