I get where you’re coming from. It’s almost as if once you can see the date in sight, and know it’s on the horizon you get super anxious. My FI and I have been engaged for 4 years, and our wedding isn’t till September 20th. Realistically that isn’t too far away, but now it seems to be all my mind can manage. I joined weddingbee about a year ago, and rarely ever posted. But now that I feel the wedding is creeping up, I’m on here constantly. Which is so ironic to me, because for the first three years I was in no rush.

Hang in there! We are getting closer every day. 12/13/14 is a really cute date and I personally love winter weddings.

I’m only 24, will be 25 when we tie the knot later this year, and I TOTALLY feel the same way. The only thing helping is that I have quite a bit of other things on my plate-school, board exams, residency applications, to keep my mind busy and my hands moving. But I’m kind of over planning the wedding. I’ve told my FI many times that I wish we couldve just had a smaller wedding, and had it sooner-I clearly don’t handle anticipation very well. I almost feel like my mother is enjoying planning this wedding more than I am!
Its just the “in-between” phase that gets to me. We are Christians, FI is a youth pastor, and there are so many “no-no’s” at the moment-no overnight trips, no late night movies, etc. It just gets old sometimes. But considering that you technically only get to be a “fiancee” once, whats the rush right? :/

MrsUPS: LOL! YES!!! At one point, a few weeks ago, I was knee deep in study materials, cramming for 9 finals at the same time, and my mother was trying to discuss colors. I literally had to write it down because I was so emotionally and mentally overwhelmed. I get that she is excited though, so I will give her that. FI and I spend about 90% of our time discussing marriage centered topics, and about 10% talking about the wedding.

Funny story, we spent the day together yesterday, and I thought we would just be able to hang around my neighborhood for a bit and just talk about non-wedding related things. Once we pulled up, we saw that my parents were home and just knewww my mom would bombard us with wedding details-we decided to go out to dinner instead-we are silly, lol
And kudos to you on abstaining!! I know that can be tough especially with the wedding being relatively close!! We just try to spend as much time together driving, in public, or doing things, as much as possible-its helped us a ton. I’m a virgin so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing, but there is a whole ‘other anxiety that comes with that as well, lol. Anyways, I’m sure we will be fine, and will make it. I believe God will bless our marriages for being faithful to his will and his word 🙂

MrsUPS: Will be 25 in November, and thanks! Said a lot of “no’s” in my short lifetime to get to this point, but FI is more than worth it.
