I’ve been doing it about a year and I LOVE it. If you’re looking for a program to kick your butt, this is it. I haven’t lost much weight (maybe around 5-10 lbs) but I’ve toned a ton. My friends always comment on my buff arms. It’s not just that the workouts are tough, but the community is amazing. I get so much support with each workout, whether I’m leading the pack or dragging my ass. I would recommend finding a good coach, though. I struggled with mine a bit because he wanted to make me lift heavier than I wanted. I had some mild rhabdo (basically insane soreness, but it can be dangerous if it gets bad) which scared me at first. Now I know my limits a little bit better.  And I love lifting heavy weights! Every time I PR it’s a total rush. I competed for the first time in a local competition a few weeks ago. Definitely didn’t win but loved the environment. And lifting heavy does not make you big at all!! Unless you’re taking steroids, as a woman you really won’t bulk up majorly. I did notice my legs got bigger, like my quads and stuff, but I actually kinda like it.

It can be expensive, but my box (what they call a gym) has a student discount that helps me.

My FH does it! I watch him at practice and the competitions and he’s been begging me to try it for two years now! Still nervous though!

I love crossfit!! I have been doing it for about a year and a half now, and I look so much better than I did. It will definitely kick your ass, but you will feel so kickass. This is coming from someone who hates working out.

It gives you a lot of variety, and you really find out what you are capable of. I am always surprised.

Like PP said, I haven’t lost weight, but have gained a lot of muscle and feel fantastic.

I had a pretty negative experience with crossfit… but maybe that was just me. I’m just not as strong and fit as others and have had 3 shoulder surgeries that has made me really weak for a lot of exercises. I was in a crossfit class for nearly a year and just hated it. I would tell the instructors over and over that I had an injury and they always seemed to forget and want me to do like 100000 pushups. Also, the class was structured so that everyone had to complete a specific number of exercises and NO ONE COULD LEAVE until the last person finished. So EVERY time, I was the last person to finish and all eyes were staring at me like I was the saddest most pathetic person alive. I held everyone up from what or where they wanted to go. It was embarrassing.

And I’m not a super lightweight either.. I’ve done the full program of P90x and Insanity, but modified for my injuries. But I was still the worst one in the class.

I had one girl turn and look at my kettle bell weight and say “aww! that’s the tiniest weight I’ve seen! how cute!” mocking me because she could wield a much heavier weight than I could. I never got any better in spite of working through my injuries to complete all the reps. I never lost weight either.

Yep, I crossfit 5 days a week and started last December. I wanted to gain muscle and get lean and it’s definitely helped with that (obvious diet is a huge part of getting lean). Here are some of the progress pics I’ve taken. I was pretty lean before too but wanted to bulk up.

You will definitely lose fat. I was jiggly all over before I started, barely worked out besides yoga now and then. Now I am much firmer and more toned. Muscle is heavier than fat, so I don’t think about my weight as much anymore.

I have tried two gyms, and I love the one I am at now. Close to work, very nice people who you can team up with, and they don’t pressure you to do more than you are able.

@islandlily84:  Damn girl you look awesome!! After a year and a half I finally look aaaalmost as good as your before pic 😉 You are really good doing it 5x a week. I usually get 3 days in, but if I’m busy I will miss one.
