Are there any Bees looking forward to the release of the X-Box One or PS4? What about your SO’s?
My FI was ecstatic this morning because he pre-ordered his X-Box One. I don’t really understand the excitement. Lol.

Not excited at ALL for the xbox one. The price is exhorbitant for a “home entertainment console” You can check how much sony’s stocks rose to see how other gamers think about it, too…
PS4 sounds interesting, but I never buy consoles the day of release. The price is high, and there are usually some bugs that come out of the woodwork. I wait a couple of months to a year, and only buy a new console when I have at least 5 titles on it already released that I am interested in.

No. I have the Xbox 360, and while I like it a lot, I consider the Xbox One a downgrade. It requires you to constantly be online, and you can’t even resell the games you bought. It’s going in a very intrusive and scammy direction, where you don’t pay to own content, you pay to use it…and meanwhile your every move can be watched. Bonus: Built in Kinect that’s always on! Microphone too. Freaking no way.
Surely everyone saw the scandals in the news these days about what the US government has been up to…and you know there’s far more to that story, not to mention what the private companies are doing. Add to that that these systems will be inevitably hacked at some point.
I love my Kinect games but I don’t even allow the Xbox to connect to Xbox live. My data stays in my home. If people don’t take a stand and keep volunteering up their information mindlessly, it may result in an irreversable blow to our privacy rights.

Xbox One = FAIL. I don’t understand why anyone would want it (yet) until they work out the stupid stuff they thought would be a good idea.
PS4 has my eye… but truthfully I could care less. We have all of the current consoles (DH is a gamer, and we work in video games and entertainment) … so I don’t see the need for the new ones for a long while. We are the type to buy new stuff a year or two later.

My SO and I are super disappointed by the Xbox One. PS4 is intriguing, but I don’t plan on buying one myself. Don’t think SO is either. He’s leaning more towards upgrading his PC and just getting the computer versions of the games he wants. And he’s got the WiiU too so his bases are pretty covered.

X-Box One sounds like it will be an epic fail. We’re excited for the PS4 though. My FI bought the first generation PS3 when it first came out, so I am sure he’ll be on the list to buy the PS4. We have the X-Box Kinect as well, so I’m opposed to the X-Box, but just not the X-Box One.

I was just going to say I haven’t heard of even one person wanting an XBOX One until I saw one person voted and read your post lol! Too bad your FI is going to waste his money on one of those 😉 PS4 all the way! and I am an XBOX 360 lover…

I imagine we’ll probably end up with a PS4 eventually. DH did not seem too excited by the xbox!

I play most of my games on my PC, so I’m good with our 360 unless something comes out on console only that I can’t live without (which is highly unlikely)

Dont like any of them enough to spend that much money, but I will get the new version of the 360 for Christmas!

@rcac1208: my FI is a die-hard xbox-er, made me watch the whole presentation on it (okay, maybe i left after 5 minutes of it). I didn’t know you could reserve it! How do you do that? What are the benefits of doing that (better deals, price, package, etc)?

We’re not likely to get either of the consoles, at least not anytime near release date, but PS4 is definitely looking better in my eyes. Mostly, there is absolutely nothing interesting to us that is exclusive to XBox One, and throw all the stuff about used games and having to be connected to the internet, plus the fact that the PS4 will be cheaper, it’s an easy choice.
