I have a ring that has a 1/2ct side stones and I had someone look at it and she said to her eye now she wasn’t a gemologist say that the side stones which are small look cloudy.
To me they don’t look cloudy except for one small round one looks cloudy. The rest look normal to me.
Does any other bees have a “cloudy” diamond. I’d like to see what it looks like. She made me feel bad.
It was only $240 which I guess at the time I didn’t think was bad.

that was so ignorant to say that to you.. People really don’t think before they speak….. None the less, it’s a side stone and I wouldnt worry that much about, most people to be truthful realy won’t look that closely at your ring… Not sure what made her go in that deep and stare at your side stones.
Also, when was the last time you cleaned the ring, sometimes it may just simply need to be cleaned. Put it in a glass with some distilled water and dawn dishwasing liquid and add a little windex.

@creeative1: Thank’s I’ll have to try that. Yes people can be rude sometimes. I never thought anything of it. Like I said even when I bought the ring. I fell in love with how it looked and thought it was so pretty and was totally me. Not that how good was the little diamonds.
Being on this site I’ve really learned a lot about what to look for, but then again. Some of that I don’t really care about. I’m not going to pay tons of money for a ring. If I like it and it look’s pretty to me. Then that’s all that should matter.
That’s all that should matter to anyone. Is that you love your ring. But people now adays are always trying to keep up with their neighbor. So sad.

I don’t know why she felt the need to say that to you! Totally uncalled for!
The diamonds in this ring are pretty cloudy, they’re dull and don’t have much sparkle,

@mrsmay07: I think that is a very very pretty ring! I love how all ring’s are different.
To me I would never ever think twice and say that your ring is dull. If I saw it I would tell you it’s beautiful. Because it is. I’m not just “being nice” as one would put it.
To many people have stuck in their head that you have to have this super shiny clear diamond, but it’s not always like that.

Honestly any diamond can look cloudy at any given time if it isnt clean. That aside who cares? If you love your ring just ignore the haters. Clarity isnt the only factor when buying a ring. Im glad you found what YOU were looking for.

@oxstardust421xo: It was probably a fingerprint! That happens to my friend’s ring all the time because she touches the stone all day long (unconsciously fiddling)!
That was pretty rude of your friend to say. Sounds like the type of catty comment that someone who’s jealous of you would say.
I don’t know if this is the same thing and unfortunately I don’t have a picture of it but when we were ring shopping, I fell in love with a ring that had a giant white inclusion on the top of the center diamond.
At the time I thought it was a fingerprint or smudge and kept rubbing the ring to clean it when I was trying to get a good look at it. It was only when I got right close to it that I learned it was a white inclusion.
The saleslady tried to convince me that only I would ever notice it but I told her that was kind of the problem, I already HAVE noticed it. In the end, they offered to replace the current diamond.
Like others have said, there are many factors as to why a ring might look cloudy – dirty or not set where the light can reflect through it, so don’t feel bad. If you like the ring thats all that matters.

wow…what a rude thing to say to you!! I can’t imagine ever saying anything like that to someone!
Have you had your ring cleaned recently? If you haven’t maybe bring it in somewhere to get cleaned or just clean it at home with some warm water/windex or just a little bit of soap on a toothbrush…or you can just buy the little jar of jewelry cleaner…Walmart sells them. See if that helps!
Do you have a picture?

@oxstardust421xo: ah, people don’t think before they speak. As pointed out, diamonds can be cloudy for various reasons including having lotion/soap on them etc. Another reason can be white internal feathers/flaws or flourescence–which may appear as cloudiness.
If it flawed it may be a comfort to remember that your diamonds are a billion years old, each unique and created under amazing pressure in the earth, thus understandably they have birth marks.
I’m assuming the ring in your avatar is yours, post a larger picture, am sure it’s lovely!

The second picture is the ring that the lady at the store said the little diamonds are cloudy, but said my center stone was really pretty and there wasn’t any kind of marks to the naked eye

@oxstardust421xo: beautiful thanks for sharing

@oxstardust421xo: yes, it is really sad.. but I can tell you this.. after you day I do and you put on your band… trust me nobody is really looking at your ban anymore. I have gotten a few comments on how different mine is, but that’s it. If you love it, that is all that matters.. I know some people whose mates spent thousands and thousands of dollars on their ring they are divorced now. So the reing is not really a measure of how much your future hubby loves you, it’s just a sign that he loved you enough to make you his wife.
While my stone is not cloudy it is an I1 diamond and it is in color, but it is quite lovely and I wouldnt trade anyting for it.

I actuaclly brought it back to the place we bought it from and the lady we spoke with was very nice. She said the stone that is cloudy they’ll replace for us. 🙂
So I guess it’s a problem solved.! YAY
