Yeah, I don’t think we’re even having one.  LOL.  Does that count for simple?  😛

Oops I didn’t read the whole post.  The weather in Baltimore in September is beautiful.  I live right outside of Baltimore and it’s always really nice.

@Bunni0929:  Yeah, we didn’t want the extra financial burden of a honeymoon so we’re just not having one.

It might be a little chilly with the breeze depending on the day and time of day you’re there.  I’m a southern girl so anything less than 70 is cold to me, LOL.  Usually it’s in the mid 60’s or 70’s.  I think a light jacket might be all you’d need to bring with you in case you’re out at night, and you might not even need it.  If you guys like to go partying, I always love going to Powerplant Live.  It’s a bunch of bars near the Inner Harbor with dancing! I love dancing.

We are having a simple honeymoon! We only had a couple of days, so we didn’t want to spend a ton of money to go to some fabulous place, and then only be there for a minute. We are going to California and are checking out a film festival, and maybe doing some spa things (couples massage!) and finding a cute activity or two–I’m thinking maybe a hot-air balloon ride if the weather is good! (Haha, I typed wedding instead of weather at first–oops! Hopefully the wedding will be good, lol.)

I don’t think you should worry if it’s “weird”…you need to do what’s right for you and your FI. I think you are being smart to not go into debt just so you can go on an international honeymoon. If you are with the person you love you will probably have a great time wherever you go!

Yes, my FI and I are going to the mountains (a three hour drive) for a few days, just to have a little getaway. We can’t afford a big extravagent honeymoon, plus we’re getting married in June, it seems like a bit of a waste to go on a tropical vacation at the beginning of summer.

My DH and I were in the same boat… Not a lot of money for a honeymoon, so we ended up going up to Lake Placid, NY. What is important is spending time together. And honestly, we were just so happy to get away for a few days with just each other that it didn’t matter to us that it wasn’t something exotic or that some people thought it was weird. There will be time for bigger trips at another point (we want to do something bigger for our 1yr anniversary or something).

We have to stay domestic because I am submitting my passport right away for a visa. We’re doing a roadtrip around Arizona, Nevada, and California. It’s nothing fancy, but it will still be fun.

@Bunni0929:  We aren’t stopping at tons of places.. we’re gonna spend 3 nights at a casino, 3 nights in chicago, and 3 nights at Sybaris, we plan to add 1 more stop but I just haven’t decided where yet.

We decided on a road trip because we wanted to spend more time having fun instead of traveling. He’s from Caifornia, his family from Florida, so both of those places aren’t very vacation-y to us. We’d have to go somewhere out of the country to go to someplace “new” and that just wasn’t feasible for us.

Hopefully you figure out something to do!

We only did a one-night idyllic staycation at a resort an hour north of us – hotel was free on points, and we had a glorious dinner at a top-rated restaurant; that was enough for us!

We like to say that every day of our lives together feels like a honeymoon 🙂

We’re going to Edinburgh, it was our first holiday together and the best one I’ve ever had. It’s about an eight hour train journey, so not exactly complicated or far. Ideally we’d go to New York or something but hey, we have forever to go to America!!
