I refer to motorbikes… I’m just learning and would love some any advice or encouragement out there.
To give some context – I live in Thailand where bikes are the most common form of transport. I’ve just recently started learning on a manual bike, quite a challenge given I’ve never even driven a manual car. I’m still finding my way around corners and am not too great at u-turns, which is a shame because u-turns are built into the way the roads work here.
Thankfully I am just puttering around my neighbourhood at the moment, and am not on any major roads yet.
Do bees with biking experience have any advice for me? How long does it take to get and feel proficient? Any words of wisdom to share? I’ve ridden about six times and still don’t feel all that confident.
Of course, it doesn’t help that my 15 year old students are whizzing around (ie. past me!) like they’ve been riding all their lives! (Which they probably have… young kids fall asleep on their bikes all the time here, sandwiched between their parents…)
ETA: Sorry, I think this is in the wrong forum, but don’t know how to move it.
