Any bees who have had a D+C (after a miscarriage)? I need advice.

First of all, so sorry for your loss ** hugs **

Second, I didn’t have any cramps or discharge after my d&c. I remember my fi picking me up from the hospital and we went away on a camping trip that day. I had bleeding but nothing else. However, what you’re describing doesn’t sound out of the ordinary to me. I’d wait another week and if you’re still having cramps maybe call your doctor. I think cramps are normal, sharp pain isn’t.

Is there a nursing consult line that you can call?  Often on discharge instructions there is a follow up number that is available 24/7 for questions.

@MademoiselleL:  unless it’s a question about medication or something clear cut, they just tell you to get checked out by a doctor or go to the hospital.

True, that often is the advice, but if you’re really anxious about this, seeing the doctor may be the best way to reassure you.

I’m sorry for your loss:-( I had a friend who had a d and c that wasn’t complete. she had some kind of infection from it. a month later she was still feeling sick, doctor tested her blood and it came back still pregnant. they rushed her in for a second d and c.

Sometimes we spend more time and effort worrying than it’s worth.  Getting the exam so that we can put it behind us makes the most sense.  Hope that you get reassuring news ASAP

Do you have an appt for a check-up after the procedure? I felt like ass for about 2.5 weeks to be honest. Cramping, etc. I also got spontaneous spotting for about 6 weeks after.

Definitely go to Emerg if you think something is seriously wrong though!

I would definitely call the doctor. You don’t mention if you have a fever? This might be too much for you to handle (I couldn’t do it) but if more comes out, perhaps find a tupperware container and save it to show your physician asap. That way he/she could reassure you as to what it is.

When I had my d&c it seemed to be forever before the cramps and so forth went away, I was convinced something was wrong. I’m so sorry for what you’re going through.
