I don’t have braces any more (I did all through high school) but I still have a retainer sort of thing with two bands on my lower teeth.  Just last week one of them cut my lip and would. not. heal!  It sucked.  Fortunately I was able to find some wax and that did the trick.  So I definitely sympathize with the pokey wire!

I too am jealous of your lingual braces! I had the regular ones FOREVER! And yes I also had headgear. But in the end it is totally worth all of it! I have wonderfully straight teeth and am grateful when I talk to other adults that wish they would have had braces when they were children. I mean…how many 13 year olds these days DON’T wear braces or retainers. Whether as an adult or child, getting braces to straighten those suckers out is def. worth it!

Just don’t let your wisdom teeth “grow in” like my parents did with mine or they’ll crowd your lower teeth. I have one caved in bottom tooth now. They didn’t know they grew in sideways. Oops! Totally ruined a good amount of dental work. Not so bad I have to fix it, but if it gets too much worse I will.

Ugh.  Don’t say that, ejs!  I still have my wisdom teeth!  And I have my fingers crossed that I never have to take them out.

Braces have come such a long ways from what they were before. Invisalign still doesn’t work on most cases because those plastic aligners can only work on mild maloclusions, but ceramic tooth-colored braces and lingual iBraces have really made it more asethetic. Congrats on getting iBraces – it costs an arm and a leg, but no one knows but you 🙂

I had braces when I was in middle school 15 years ago, and now I have braces again. My first orthodontist wasn’t very good and my teeth never really got ‘fixed’ back then, but now I have a good orthodontist and my teeth are on their way to being perfectly aligned 🙂

I’ve had the braces for just under a year and a half. I’m hoping to get them removed soon, maybe by October or November, certainly before my wedding in February!

I originally wanted to get Invisalign but the doc said that my case wasn’t a good candidate. Fiance, on the other hand, has had Invisalign for about four months now, and his teeth are almost perfect already. I think he has about a month left in his treatment.
