I will try to find the product name for you, but basically it’s a long leather sheath with snaps down the center of it; you put your hair in a pony tail, wrap the pony tail in the sheath, snap it shut, and you’re good to go.

For the hair inside the helmet there’s a product called In The Wind which used to be at http://inthewindinc.com (or at least that’s what I find on google) but seems to not be there any more; they had a hair tangle prevention lotion that made your hair really slick and resistent to tangles. Downsides: if you used too much, your hair looked really greasy, and it would make your hands slick if you didn’t wash them after using it.  Since they appear to have gone out of business (It takes like a year for me to use a whole bottle, and I’ve just not looked for them online in ages), you’ll probably have to google around and see what companies make a similar product.

If you can’t find In The WInd or a suitable replacement, I sometimes use Biosilk leave-in silk treatment, just two or three times the usual amount. It works fairly well, not as well as In The Wind, but it’s WAY too expensive to use in those big doses!

i have long hair too and the only things that i’ve found is doing pig-tail braids. I dont do them super tight so i dont know kinks in my hair when i take them out at a stop. It’s but the only thing that keeps it from turning into a huge mess. And i have a full face helmet and a beanie helmet and it seems to work well with both of those!

I usually wear a braid or sort of stuff my hair up in the helmet.  If I am not wearing a helmet I will use a bandana.

I have long hair too (almost to my waist)–I usually either braid it or put it in a low messy bun. It’s not perfect, but it usually prevents most of the snarls.

I’m not a biker… I road once with my hair in a pony tail (almost to my waist), and I could NOT believe the knots I had!

I’ve seen lots of women using the pony tail wraps that a PP posted 🙂
