What area would the Outer Banks board cover? Maybe we can add one here...
For NC it would be Carova Beach, Corolla, Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kitty Devil Hills, Nags Head, Roanoke Island, Oregon Inlet, Hatteras Island, Ocracoke Island
Some include partys of SC such as Hilton Head, and all points north or Mrytle Beach on the shore
Got it. So it kinda stretches across SC and NC? Hmm, we already have a SC. Any suggestions?
Honestly, I am more concerned with the NC board and the "true" Outer Banks described above. There is a true lack of discussion out there and yet its such a popular place for beach weddings so it would be great to be able to share ideas and vendors.
Hi, I just returned from the OBX (Corolla) a few days ago and had my engagement pics done. I'm not entirely happy with the photographer so message me if you want to know who NOT to choose as your photographer.
Also, while doing my research I just googled "outer banks photographers" and tons of links came up related to OBX weddings. Hope this helps!
I second the need for an OBX board! I am getting married a little south of the "true" outerbanks (Bald Head Island) but still consider it to be in that general area.
Getting Married 10-10-10 in Nags Head would love to share with other October OBX brides and other OBX brides in general.
Any one doing it DIY at a rental house
Hey bklynldy, I'm getting married on 10.10.10 in Corolla at a rental! Woo hoo :)
And yes, yes, YES we need a board!
I am looking for a similar type of wedding... lets get this more organized!
I just got married May 2. Our wedding was in Manteo, NC at the Aquarium but we stayed in Nags Head.
I would love to share some things on the board if the OBX had one! I think just the OBX of NC would suffice.
@EAQ219 -- Who did you use for your photographer?? I loveeddd mine. AMMC Photography. Its a young married couple and they do amazing work -- www.ammcphoto.com
I live out here and I am getting married out here 10/23/10. There is an Outer Banks Wedding Association. Let me know if you need a locals point of view!

If anyone is interested-
My husband is a photographer and my inlaws live in Corolla NC
We go there often and he is willing to photograph a wedding at a low cost to help him with marketing.
We got engaged on top of the Curituck lighthouse and our wedding was a lighthouse theme!! he even started up his photography business with a light house theme... we love the OBX so anything we can do to help brides out there is a treat!!
happy planning!!

Hi Outer Banks Ladies -
I was married almost a year ago (gasp!) this past September in Corolla and I'm still involved in the whole wedding world down in the Outer Banks (I even started my own wedding invite business - www.onepounddesign.blogspot.com - after I ended up designing all of my wedding paper goods). PLEASE feel free to email me if you have any questions about planning, vendors or logistics for the Northern Outer Banks. Odds are I've had some form of correspondence with all or most of them.
I have also been a Corolla "almost-native" for about 27 years -- My family has owned property and been vacationing every summer and fall there since before I was born (going on 27 years), and so if you have any questions about areas or weather at certain times of the year, please feel free to email me!
I know what it's like to be planning a wedding (almost) by yourself and trust me, I know how overwhelming it can be if you don't live in or are familiar with the area!
-Best,
Leslie
Hi Bees!
I am getting married at the the twiddy event home, the wild horse, in carova on 9/28/12 (so I have a while to go). Anyone used or attended a wedding at this venue yet, or know anyone who has??? I would love any tips you can pass along!!
ironically, even though we have a long time to go, we went to the wedding expo and picked most of our vendors already!! :D so far, we are using the following:
planner (week-of): gena martin, P3
floral/decor: renee landry style
DJ: DJ bruce
cake: great cakes
catering: currently torn between 3 options.....currituck bbq company, metropolis, or red sky.
rentals: distinctive event rentals
can't wait!! yay for northern outer banks weddings!
@lkltxva: I see that you are familar with the area. My fiance and I are planning a Sept 2011 wedding in under six month (yikes!) and I had a few questions if you had a minute and wouldn't mind answering.
We are getting married at the Corolla Chapel and are having the reception at a rental rental home in Southern Shores. Who would you recommend for catering, hair, flowers and cake? We are working with a budget. Thank you in advance!

Hello Fellow Brides-
I have been on many websites looking for boards dedicated to getting married on the OuterBanks of NC/SC. If you have any suggestions on any sites please let me know.
