I have been doing Body Attack classes for about 4 months now… they still kick my butt each time…. I am so happy that I finally found something I like to do and I HATE doing Cardio! I just started to incorporate some Body Pump classes too for more strength builiding and toning… my arms shake and my legs are sore…but it is worth it!! I was intimidated by group fitness at first but I am so glad I gave it a try! Anyone else?

I used to do Body Pump and Body Combat all the time – loved them both! I did Body Attack for a while but preferred the other two for some reason – maybe because Body Attack seriously kicked my arse every time! lol.
Body Pump is a great class for toning up – just make sure you’re doing the correct weights. Your body gets used to weights and repetition really quickly so in order to keep getting maximum benefit from the workout, monitor your weights closely. Your muscles should be fatigued by the end of the set for that particular muscle group. In fact, it should be pretty difficult to do the last few reps with that muscle group as that is when you’re really working the muscle. If you’re not feeling that, up the weights a bit next class, but be careful you don’t increase them too quickly or by too much!
If you love Body Attack, you should try Zumba if your gym offers it. I was hesitant to go for a long time as I am rather uncoordinated, but I absolutely loved it! You think Attack is fun? Wait until you get into Zumba – ridiculously fun and a MASSIVE calorie burner! 🙂

Over here! I have a love-hate relationship with Body Attack. I absolutely hate the class while I’m doing because it kicks my ass every time (I’m just trying not to throw up or pass out!), but then I feel so good for doing it afterwards. It’s such a great workout. I haven’t tried body pump though.
Funny that Ree723 just mentioned Zumba! I tried that class for the first time tonight and loved it! I wasn’t expecting to sweat because I thought I’d be too lost getting the moves, but I was sweating because it doesn’t really matter if you have the moves downpat; the general movements are pretty fast and get you working hard. And it was so much fun! It was like trying to do all those cool latin hip hop moves I’d always hoped I could do but in the comfort of a class where everyone else is just trying to follow along as well, so I didn’t feel embarrassed. It felt kinda silly doing all these hip gyrations and chest pumps but everyone was else was trying them too and I was laughing through most of it. I’d highly recommend it!

I definitely have to try Zumba….I have a friend that does it at a different gym but I really would like a friend the first time because i know I will be laughing lots!! I am totally uncoordinated and don’t have have much rhythm… a bad combination! 🙂
I have that same love hate relationship with Body Attack… but I feel great after. Definitely a butt kicker!!!

Love, Love, Love BodyPump! I’ve been doing it for about 6 years haha. The only funny thing is that the only weight I haven’t been able to increase is my bicep weight, they are so weak! I blame it on having such long arms, theres a lot more distance to travel when doing those bicep curls ;)~
