@heyveldc: Not gonna post a pic cuz I’m private, but I’m a person who does not wear a lot of makeup – and I had 2 experiences. One, for a shoot I wore a LOT of makeup, and then for my wedding I did my own. I loved my wedding photos a LOT better because I looked like me, I didn’t look like some dressed up doll. The shoot where I wore a LOT of makeup (it was tastefully done, just not my usual style)… even my friends didn’t like the fact I had makeup, and my DH thought I looked like a freak. I am a professional photographer too and I love it when my brides go with what they normally love – you have to fell like you and that is what makes you the most beautiful on your day. As for your face getting red, just make sure you’re not in the sun a lot before your wedding, wear lots of sun screen, reapply, and use foundation on the day of your wedding!

i don’t wear a lot of make up. This is what I would focus on:

get your eyebrows done- IMO nicely shaped, clean eyebrows make a huge difference

skin- clear, even toned. Use a nice powder or foundation

mascara- eyes will pop.

For reference, all I use is powdEr and mascara! I think it’s very natural looking

I don’t want to post a photo (privacy reasons) but I’d say my makeup qualified as fairly light.

I wore my usual tinted moisturizer (Clinique CC cream) and concealer (on any spots and dark circles).

I put on a teeny bit of highlighter on my cheeks (Benefit’s Watt’s Up).

That’s it for skin.. pretty light when it comes to wedding makeup IMO.

For my eyes I just played around with a few shades of eye shadow to create a sorta smoky eye and curled my lashes and wore mascara. I filled in my eyebrows slightly with eyeshadow as well to make them more defined.

I wore Juicy Tubes gloss on my lips.

In photos I looked ‘done’ but not unnatural and I felt comfortable. This is more makeup than I usually wear but it didn’t feel caked on either.

Thanks for making a thread to ask about this. I am the same way and do not use make up, and I feel self conscious when I do.

@heyveldc:  Sorry I don’t want to post a picture either.

I didn’t wear eye liner because I forgot it and no lipstick.  I have never in my life worn lipstick for more than a few seconds.  I always wipe it off immediately because it feels and looks weird to me.  My husband is not a fan of makeup and has some irrational fear of lipstick anyway.

I do wish I had gotten extensions because I always wear my hair down but it is really thin and doesn’t hold a curl so I felt I had no choice but to put it up.  I feel like I don’t look like “me” because I never wear it up.  My husband was freaked out by the idea of extensions also so I didn’t do it.

@heyveldc:  I didn’t wear make-up on my wedding day.  It’s just not me- and so while a small part of me was worried about photos, the other part of me realized I was going to feel like an idiot wearin make up.  So I didn’t.

Here are some pics:

I hate how I look when I have a full face of make-up. That’s half the reason why I decided not to hire a MUA. For my wedding all I used was, light foundation, mascara, blush and lipgloss. Also as PP said groomed eyebrows are awesome. They make your eye pop more than any eyeshadow… in my opinion.
