I have seen some women have a colored dress instead of a white/off white dress. I kind of like the idea, but I also like the idea of a white one. I have a really small budget for a dress…max of $250 and so I’m looking into all kinds of options. I’ve seen some bridesmaid dresses that I like, but they don’t come in white. We are having a pretty laid back wedding, so I’m not going super fancy.
If you wore or plan to wear a different color dress please share you pics!!!

Have you gone to Wedding Shoppe yet? I got one of my dresses there, it was a sample and around $200.

@tksjewelry: I haven’t gone shopping yet…only online…I have an appt on February 13th. I have a huge list of their dresses under $200 that I want to try on, lol.

@LincsMama: They are so nice there! Sneak lots of pics! Ive actually never been in the building, just talked to several of them on the phone many times. They had a sample I was hunting for and, crazy, but they were only a few minutes from my moms house and was the only place in the country that had that sample.

$250? You could try Dressilyme or Light In the Box. The dress I was looking at (sweep train/keyhole back) was $199 USD.
I was hesitant about ordering online — until it came to my knowledge that a cousin who had more than 3 or 4 dresses had all of hers ordered online! (I had thought they were all designer dresses!)

I really really wanted a champagne colored dress. I unfortunately liked a dress that only came in white & diamond white. I had to get the diond white bc I dont like regular white. The diamond white is really ivory, but its not as ‘colored’ as i wanted it. Theres just something about a darker ivory or champagne color that is so elegant and rich looking. I think going with a xolored dress would be nice. You dont have to have a dark color…blush or champagne are still bridal…and pretty popular right now.

Have you ever considered rent the runway? There are plenty of great dresses of all colors, including white. Just a thought! Also check out Ann Taylor’s bridal section. I think they have some beautiful dresses that would be great for a laid back ceremony.
Personally, I love dresses that aren’t white. My dress is a subtle blue, and I have seen several blush dresses recently that are awesome.

@LincsMama: The blue one was my ceremony dress ($129 I believe from Amazon) and the green one was my reception dress ($34? from Bealls)

@LincsMama: I wore blue, but it was more than $250 as it was custom made. The only dresses I seriously considered were bridesmaids dresses, but that was because I actually wanted a coloured dress.
Anyway, you can get quite a lot for $250, especially in bridesmaids dresses. All these are under $250 and available in white, as well as other colours, obvs.

I’m having a blue wedding dress. I’ll probably buy a bridesmaid dress. Just struggling to make sure the bridesmaid dresses don’t overshadow the bride’s dress!
