getting married in Charleston in April of 2011...any charleston brides out there?

I'm a Charleston bride getting married Sat June 26, 2010!! I can't wait! We are getting married at the Governor Thomas Bennett House with reception to follow.
I'm stuck on wedding favors- I've gotten a lot of great ideas from other weddingbee's from another forum post I made- but if you have ideas or know what you are doing I would love to hear!!

So where is everyone getting married and/or having their reception? My Mr. and I are getting married at the Gov. Thomas Bennett House! We can't wait. What a lovely venue it is. Dang, how'd I miss this post.
Well, I'm a Charleston bride, getting married sometime in 2010. I'm trying to plan a surprise wedding, so I can't tell you where it is! :) We're hoping for a couple of places and probably labor day weekend.
oh, and if any of you wants to get married on may 15, 2010 and still needs a venue... let me know. i'm getting out of my original venue contract soon so i'll let you know the day I do! Message me to know where, and I'll hook you up--if you need somewhere short notice, this place is great.
@victoriar...how much is it to rent the Thomas Bennett House? I just researched it and I like the looks of it! How far in advance did you book?
I'm not getting married in Charleston but we are going on our honeymoon there! Not to hijack the thread, but if any of you want to PM me suggestions for things to do in Charleston, we'd love it!
Another Charleston bride here...10/16/10 at Ceremony at St Mary's and Reception at The Citadel Beach House.
oh me me!! I'm getting married November 7,2010 at the Daniel Island Club (ceremony and reception)-I LOVE it and they are so wonderfully helpful there!
June 4th 2011!!! Already couting down the days! We're getting married at the Summeral Chapel and then having the reception at the Old Exchange Building downtown!
I'm not a Charleston bride, but I will be moving there after the wedding to live with my fiance. He lives in Mt P. I'm getting a little nervous about the move!
@Ms.Teddy- Sorry this post is coming 5 months after yours.. I'm not too weddingbee.com savvy. We paid $4,000 for all day house and garden rental at The Thomas Bennett House. We surprisingly went in October and booked June 26. Linda McCormick is the house manager. She is the main point of contact. She is very sweet and easy to work with. She rents to brides at a first come first serve basis. It's beautiful and I would def suggest it to any bride looking for a classic Charleston indoor/outdoor garden wedding.
@victoriar-I actually am having the wedding and reception at the Thomas Bennett House on April 16, 2011! Its already booked and everything!! We are venue twins!! Its so freakin pretty I almost cried. Ps- I love Linda...she is so easy to work with and so nice!
@Ms.Teddy- That's wonderful news!!!!!!!!!! How fun! I'll be sure and share our pictures from our upcoming June wedding so you can see how we utilized the yard, house etc :) We too are having the ceremony and reception at the Thomas Bennett. We are using A Charleston Event & Bridal Library for our Wedding Coordinator. Elyn Rahman is so sweet and knows everyone in Charleston to help you with vendors.
When my fiance and I left the Thomas Bennett after first going to look at it.. we got into our rental car.. stared at eachother and both had chills while we said.. "that's it" "that's where we are going to get married, it's perfect."

@victoriar-thats EXACTLY how we felt too! we had to look at other venues that day but only went because my mom made us..haha. we would have cancelled if it was just the two of us! I cant wait to see your wedding pics...I would love to see how you set up the yards and the house!

Hey ladies! I'm a Charleston bride! We're getting married November 4, 2011 at Hampton Park by the Citadel followed by the reception at The Old Exchange! Does anyone have good ideas for places to take photos around town??
@Pink Peony: Are you getting married in the Hampton Park Gazebo? I am in March.
@Pink Peony and mandb122 - I did some of my engagement pictures at hampton park, it is so pretty!!!
@mandb122: No I think we're going to use the lagoon, not sure exactly what that gives us for space though! Can't wait to see your photos!
@PinkPeony : How much is it to have your ceremony at Hampton Park?
@Lhuitt82: I'm having my ceremony in the Hampton Park gazebo and it's $380 for the fee. I think it varies though on time of year and time of day (the factors that decide how public/crowded it is).
@Lhuitt82: I haven't gotten that far yet. Once I figure it out I'll let you know!
Just thought I would say I'm now a Charleston bride as well yay :)
Thanks! and no not yet. We just recently decided to have it in SC instead of our hometown since we plan on moving there in Nov.
