My brother just got engaged and he and his FI want to have a destination wedding in Costa Rica. He’s a surfer, and they normally choose more remote locations. I’ve gently suggested they might want to consider a more resort area for the actual wedding so that guests actually have “things” to do. He agreed that would be a good idea, since they usually spend the whole time surfing, I know our families would not be content to sit around the whole time.
Anyone get married in Costa Rica? Got any suggestions for locations and all inclusive resorts?
He also wants a recommendation for a reputable travel agent.

I lived in Costa Rica for several months but, as I was living there, I don’t know any all inclusive resorts. Fortunas near Arenal Volcano might have an all inclusive option. If so, they’re awesome and that’s a great area of the country. But all the good surfing is on the Pacific coast. My favorite surf town is Jaco and my favorite surf beach is Playa Naranja. Costa Rica is a great place to travel and pretty easy too. Very established tourism structure. Most people understand at least some English. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. It’s very safe. Beautiful scenery. And great surfing. And snorkeling/SCUBA. And hiking. And it’s just awesome. Sorry I don’t know more resorts. But if you have other questions, feel free to PM me!
