I am not a dentist, however my sister is.  I have 4 crowns myself and have had them replaced.  Your gums and jaw are probably sore from all the pressure and pulling (sometimes it can take more force than you realize to remove a crown).  The soreness should go away in a day or two, if not call your dentist.  In the meantime take some pain relievers and avoid hard or crunchy foods.  Hope this helps!

It also could be because the temporary crown was not fitted to your bite as well as the permanent one will be and is causing pressure on other teeth.

This makes me wish I would have stuck to my plan of bio bachelors to dental school so there would have been more dental bees. Oh well, it’s nice to know I’ll be done with school before I’m 30.
