Any diet plans?

The whole diet and exercise thing works wonders for me. Keeping my calories under 1200 helps me lose weight by makign sure I burn enough to lose weight and making sure I track every little thing that I put into my mouth. I’d focus more on diet than exercise though, starting a new fitness plan can actually make you retain water in the short term. So for now:

  • Drink 64 ounces of water a day. Every day.
  • Cut out sugared drinks and alcohol. Drink just water. Buy Crystal Lite Packs if you need flavor.
  • Reduce the amount of carbs you eat. Stick to lean protein (chicken, fish)
  • Don’t eat out at a restaurant for a week.
  • Keep your calories under 1,200/day

@katherin788:  I can’t say I have specific diet plan, or “type” of diet, but whenever I feel ike I’ve let myself go a bit, I try to start tracking what I eat on My Fitness Pal. That uaully helps me get back on track. In general I try to each whole, unprocessed foods. I’m not big on a lot of restriction- everything in moderation, but if I feel like I need a reset, I’ll try to avoid sweets especially for a while. After a few weeks without them, you don’t crave them!

I think it depends on the source of your weight gain- have your eating habits actually changed? Less activity? More stress? Less sleep? etc.

Also, I disagree with PP about less tha 1200 calories. you should be consuming at minimum 1200 calories a day NET (accounting for calories burned from exercise).

I follow the Slimming World Extra easy plan. It’s really helping me lose weight.

@katherin788:  DH has lost 16lbs on the Paleo diet, his brother has lost 20lbs. DH does that, spin classes a couple times a week and is more mindful or portions- his 6 pack is back! I’m pregnant so I’m not doing it, but maybe after baby!

@katherin788:  Do you take any supplements?  I just started taking ACE a month ago and I lost 7 lbs and over an inch in my waist!

 

I also do a 30 minute workout in the morning and try to make healthy choices!
