i get all my embellishments and papers and sometimes themed “kits” from digiscrapdepot.com (which has a TON of free stuff).  i put it all together in GIMP.  i haven’t actually gotten to the point where i’ve completely assembled a book yet, but here is the plan….i’ve made photobooks (premade backgrounds, etc) on shutterfly before, and i know when you do a custom book, in their “one photo per page” layouts is an option for a full-page “photo” with no text box.  i plan on assembling a book entirely made of those, where the full-page “photo” is actually my digiscrap page.  HTH!

I’ve made scrapbook pages for simple stuff on costco’s photo website, they will actually print a pro looking 8×8 or 12×12 page and you can design it how you like.

Oh and I have also done two “for real” digital scrapbooks… man… they were amazing but took a long time to do! Probably at least twice as long as my photobook if not longer.. One was for my best friend’s bach party/wedding, and the other was for my SO’s mother. I definitely miss digi scrapping, I need to get back into it if I only had the time…. oh there aren’t enough hours in the day!

And ONE more thing 🙂

Here is a link to my personal blog page that lists my favorite online freebie places. I don’t know how many of them still exist, as I made the page 3 years ago

Do you have a Hallmark store near you? At the checkout they have digital scrapbook kits, cost about 20$, which come with a usb, so your digital scrapbook is portable. I have one and it is  awesome, it allows you to create slideshows, scrapbook pages, cards. It allows you to upload your pics, and music (or you can use theirs). It also allows you to print out your digital scrapbook page if you want a hardcopy aswell. Best part is, it automatically sends you emails (if you want it to) of new content (which is always being released…seriously about once a week), in a variety of subjects, which you can use for no extra cost. Soo worth the initial 20$ cost!
