Hubby and I just finished watching the last season on Netflix. Was pretty good! Wish I had cable for this show alone. Sigh. Have to wait for it to go up on Netflix I guess... Am really looking forward to learning more about the River Song character finally!
Oh my FI is! I've only ever seen bits and pieces of Dr. Who, but my FI loves it and talks about it all the time. I was so confused by the whole multiple doctors thing for so long!
@pfinarffle: I know!! I love River Song's character - she's so interesting, and so complex. Good, complex characters are tough to find in tv shows :)
YES!! ...except that I haven't made it past the last season (the Pandorica). I'm trying to find ways to work my Who obsession into a wedding detail.
@parasol: there's an episode in season 3 or 4 (of the current run) that has a bunch of characters who come back from the original series (one of the companions) and I was soooooo confused the first time I watched it! I had to stop and wikipedia it to understand what was going on, haha...
You should watch it with him sometime! See if he'll start from the beginning with you, with Rose.

@daydreamwanderer: He would LOVE that. Perhaps my wedding present to him will be to watch Dr. Who. Cost effective, and we get to spend quality time together.
I've watched all the episodes on Netflix! We don't have cable, so I will have to wait. :-(

@parasol: that would be an awesome present! For scifi, it's actually a really relate-able show. And the seasons with Rose have a bit of romance, as does the Amy/Rory arc!
There's been a couple threads in the last season/series discussian the astronaut (I'm not really pleased with how it turned out to be you-know-who as it just makes it messy to tie it all together).
I am excited to see Saturday's episode "Let's Kill Hitler" to see how Moffat writes it all. I'm predicting that they come across Hitler and ahve the chance to stop him but because of the wibbly-wobblyness of time they can't because of set points and whatnot.

My daughter and her fiance love Doctor Who. I watch it with them sometimes, but it can be very confusing if you think about the whole aspect of time in relation to their age.
@daydreamwanderer: That was the groom's cake! We still have the top (police box and up)
And they pretty much say all of that in the last 10 minutes of "A Good Man Goes to War". They explain how she got her name, about the woman with the eyepatch, what she's done with Melody, etc
These last few months have been torturous—I've been watching the whole season over again trying to tie everything together myself and figure everything out.
I can't wait for the new season!!!! I've been watching the reruns while i fold laundry. I hate folding laudnry and this makes it bearable!!

Not going to lie--I still miss David Tennant's adorableness :). But Matt Smith's a great actor, and Steven Moffat is doing some amazing storylines! I'm super excited about the new half of the series!

Who else is super excited for the new season of Doctor Who to start on Saturday!? I've been DVRing the reruns that are on BBC America every afternoon, and I'm almost caught up (I've seen the whole season 1x through before) in anticipation!
