Since college, I have wanted a 5 stone engagement ring in platinum.  Well, I got exactly what I wanted, and now I am starting to think about wedding rings.  The problem is that I love my 5 stone, just as it is.  I don't want to add a thing to my left hand, and I don't want a right hand ring.   It looks like i have 5 perfect drops of water on my finger, totally clear and sparkly, and they span the front of my finger so all you can see are the diamonds.  I have tried on plan platinum bands, and e-bands, and everything you can imagine.  What i want is to wear my e-ring as my wedding ring after the ceremony.  So should I just use my 5 stone for the exchanging of the rings? Somehow that doesn't feel like I'm doing enough.  Maybe not wear it for a week before my wedding so it seems "new"...normally I'd have this all figured out, but this one has me stumped.

If that's what you want then go with it! There's nothing to say that you HAVE to have a wedding band and I think if you love your ering that much then why not make it have a dual meaning for you and make it your wedding band as well! :)

Can we see a picture of the ring?  The great thing about wedding rings is that you can do whatever you want.  So if you will be happiest with your 5 stone as your wedding/engagment ring, do it!  Maybe you could get a very thin solid band and use it for the ceremony (or use both) so you feel like you have a "different" ring, and then wear your e ring alone after the wedding day?

Love your ring Kingcake and I think if you just want your e-ring then only wear that one.  My e-ring just doesn't look right with anything else, no joking here, and custom won't look right (too bulky for me) so I'm not wearing a wedding band on my left hand either. Now, I am wearing one on my right because I saw it and fell in love with it and now i have two pretties to wear everyday!! :)  But really, don't get another ring if you don't want to and I wouldn't worry about needing it to feel "new".  Have you thought about a ring blessing where you pass around the ring and people give it their blessings?  Or maybe see if you can get the inside of the ring engraved and that would make it "new"?  I don't know.  Just a thought.

I love 5 stone rings! Yours is gorgeous and it is fine to wear it alone. If you feel you need a separate wedding band I would get a plain platinum band to wear for travel, working out, or any time you don't want to wear diamonds.

I do like the stacked ring look, so I will post a link to this 5 stone, stacked with a thinner diamond band.

@curlysue, thank you!  I can't believe I never thought of engraving...that is such a good idea!   That would definitely make it seem new and different, and then i could get it all polished and clean, and then it wouldn't be like I"m just taking it off before I walk up the aisle.  Thank you thank you!

@cakegal, I would love to see what you've posted but I can't get it to work, sorry!  Could you give me some hints on where to look on pricescope?  Thanks!

I really like how your ring looks just on it's own.   The engraving idea is a really good one too.

Cakegal I really like that!  Oh noooooo, new ways to spend $$$.   Maybe I could just wear it occasionally?

SO pretty. I like when rings make diamonds look like water drops. I have a thing against too much metal.
