Hey ladies. I have an interview this week for a flight attendant position. Something I’ve always wanted to do! However I will be changing from a career where I make pretty decent money and I’m concerned about the salary. Do you find you make enough to get by or do you have to supplement with another job?! Do you loooove what you do?! Im not totally money driven. I really just want to be happy! any insight would be lovely!

@Edmt84: Oh boy. You couldn’t pay me enough to work in the sky. I’m a terrible flyer!
But good luck in the interview, and I hope you do well!

I am not but a close friend is. She has been doing itfor 5 years now. She is 38 years old no husband or kids and has no desire for either. She does well for herself (owns a little condo in Florida, a newer car, etc).
However she doesn’t LOVE it. She loves the perks but hates the schedule, or lack there of, and hates being away from home for long periods of time. Now that she has a little seniority her schedule is better, the first 5 years were bad though.
I don’t see how anyone with young kids or a relationship could do it. But, you will see some awesome places you might never have had the opportunity to see. Flight attendants are a special breed.

Thanks for the responses! It’s always been a dreaa because I adore flying and planes and airports! My industry isn’t doing great so it is kinda a natural transition time and I thought I might wanna try it before I have kids or I’ll always wonder if it’s the job that got away! Thanks for the well wishes : )
