Boo! on the Gators! You know FSU is better. And much to my dismay my sister/ MOH is a Gator fan. I was thinking about getting a really pretty gator pin/brooch and pinning it on her bouquet.
We are a house divided, I'm FSU and FI is a gator, so I'm trying to keep football out as much as possible! I'm thinking of being nice and making a UF garter though, and I got bobby bowden to autograph a picture for my dad as a part of his gift. He will be very excited!

FSU fan here (go Noles! hehe) but I just wanted to say that I think wanting to include your college team in your wedding is great! Even if it is the Gators. 
@Tampamom-- I love that inspiration board- it's fantastic!! I'm thinking of buying those garters-- they look like ones I found on ebay :) I love the cake from the inspiration board but it's probably too much unless you're both gators!! My fiance is an Oregon duck and the thought of combining his yellow and green with my orange and blue in a wedding is just disturbing :)
Luckily- I'll have a bunch of Gator buddies attending, so I think our rendition of "We are the boys" will be SWEET!!
I did see a wedding where they combined by having the bride's cake one team and the groom's cake portray the other.... fun filled wedding, not exactly glamorous, but it was their style and all had fun!
BOOOO GATORS! My FH and I are both UGA alumni, so we are incorporating our love for the Red and Black by having a "G" groom's cake.
My FI and I are both Auburn grads. My BMs are wearing blue dresses and will have orange (and yellow) gerber daisies. I'm sure my FI will also want an Auburn grooms cake.
I've seen people be announced to their fight songs and then use shakers when they are leaving. I went to one AU/UGA wedding and they had all the grooms family/friends have Auburn shakers and all the bride's family/friends have UGA shakers when they were leaving.
Im a Syracuse grad, FI is an Ohio State Grad. We're incorporating a lot of both into the wedding, but not thru the colors. We ARE showing the OSU/USC game at the reception (9pm, wont infrigne TOO much) and the boys are wering buckeye bouts (FI doesnt know this yet - will be a surprise from me!!) and a bunch of other stuff. His grooms cake is a 3D replica of the Horseshoe (OSU football Stadium) and our recessional is to the OSU fight song, entrance at reception to Syracuse fight song, etc
KellyV-My fiance went to OSU for awhile but didn't graduate from there. But we are big Buckeye fans. I didn't realize the game was on at 9pm. I thought was earlier in the day. Should work out ok because our venue has a small bar that I *think* has a tv. At least everyone will be able to keep up!
Hmmm...we may have to add Hang On Sloopy to our reception playlist!
Go Gators! Luckily both of us are huge fans, but we did not incorporate it into our wedding. We were initially going to have his groom's cake be a gator, but ran out of time.
One of my friends went to UF for her undergraduate, but her husband went to FSU. When they went to cut the cake, he picked up the cake knife and started going on about how this was not the cake knife they picked out. He was making this big scene about how this was not their knife and that someone needed to find it, when his groomsmen came out with a boombox blaring the FSU song holding up tomahawks. They ended up cutting their cake with one of the tomahawks. Hilarious.
i love that so many girls are incorporating their school pride & colors into their wedding days, and i am no exception. Although I'm not a gator... proud wolverine! I am using maize & blue as my colors and i got Amber at Tried & True weddings to help me make an inspiration board that combined my maize & blue colors with my vision of my day... she did an amazing job!

I have a TON of school pride MSU :) Go Spartans!! but my FH went to CMU and doesn't have much school pride at all. I really want to incorporate MSU some way but I was thinking maybe it would be better to do at a shower? or somehow in my batchlorette party? My MOH is a spartan too and a hugeee fan as well :) ideas??
GO NOLES! We sort of our a housedivided ( FH & I) However, my parents house is a super house divided - my sister and I went to FSU & our younger sisters just graduated from Florida Nursing last year. Our dad has the house divided tag on his truck & they also have the flag they display during football season :)
FH is a Longhorn - So I have no problem sporting Texas gear - so I am placing a Texas Longhorm charm on my garter :)
Love those cakes - sending them over to my sisters for their Gator cravings LOL!
Well, no one's probably ever heard of my college but Fi and I both went there and there will be at least 50 (if not more) Hamilton College alumni in attendance (Both my mom and brother went there as well!) so we are bringing a Hamilton banner and doing a huge alumni pic at the reception! Plus, (although this was not on purpose) my colors are a subtle nod to Hamilton bc we are using blue and yellow, which technically is the college's colors as well, although different shades...
Just stopping in to represent a little Hurricane pride! ;o)
Like a lot of others, our family has mixed loyalties. I'm a UM grad, my sister went to FSU and a couple of cousins and an aunt are (sadly) Gators. I can say UF has some die-hard dedicated fans!
@tessabella76: Mr. Yorkie is a Buckeye. The last song of the night at our reception was Carmen Ohio. :o)
Haha I thought about this topic today when I was shopping in a college fan store with my best friend since kindergarten. She is a die-hard gator fan (Don't blame me I was 5 when we met 
) and she was saying how she better marry a fellow UF fan because she is having a gator garter no matter what hehe.
I just agreed with her and continued looking at the much prettier FSU stuff.
@TessaBella - I was wrong, its at 8:00. Close enough though :o) Hang on Sloopy is definitely on our playlist!

GO GATORS! im a double gator (undergrad and law) and my fiance and i met at grog during free beer on a sat night! i just graduated and i miss the ville already! most of our bridal party and guests are gators too so we had to pick a bye week for the wedding! we are going to be announced to the chomp and we are the boys will be played...three quarters of the way through the reception of course! im dying to have our engagement pics done in the stadium!
I have a Longhorn FI too, and I am wearing a Longhorn Garter. I really wanted to do orange BM dresses, but the color is more fall so it isn't going to work (Luckily he understands!) i am also going to surprise him with a Longhorn Groom's Cake.
Oh my goodness! A board for Gator Love!!! Well I'm in GRAD school at UF and is currently planning a wedding to my lovely fiance (who I call Mr. Knight since he went to UCF in Orlando). We ordered these cute little custom cake toppers from bunnywithatoolbelt on Etsy!

GO GATORS! @ Miss.Gator I love your cake toppers! I really want to be introduced to the sound of the gators fight song (I am a bad gator, what is it called?) but my FI does not. I am thinking of the gator garter though. We decided to get e-pics jsut so we would have pics of us in Gainesville (where we met and live) since our wedding is in VT.
Oh and we also had our engagement shoot on the University of Florida Campus with Starks Photography!

@Carbon Girl: I just saw a wedding video where the bride and groom were introduced with the Gator Fight song. Here is a link to their YouTube video. You have to wait for it to buffer and then fast forward to when the bride and groom come in. Right before they come in they are introduced by a guy dressed like MR. TWO-BITS!!! Amazing!

My fiance went to University of Michigan and I attended Michigan State so we are subtly incorporating some college rivalry into our wedding but trying to figure out how to do it in a very classy way. We had cake toppers made by Naked Peggies on Etsy.com (his is a UofM football player, mine is an MSU cheerleader... so cute!)... we might do something sports related for our entrance into the reception but aren't sure if this will be too cheesy. We also will most likely name our tables after sports as well.
I've also seen people have the school's mascot come to the reception- my friend just did this with Sparty, the MSU mascot. He came in for a dance and people all got their pictures with him.

Go gators!! I've seen a few references to some fellow Gators on the boards, so I figured I'd ask the question- how are you, if at all, incorporating your love for the orange and blue into your wedding? What about other colleges? How are you incorporating your love for your collegiate mascot/colors into your big day??
The FI is from a different college (not SEC thankfully or we might have a "house divided")- so I'm trying not to go over the top- but am thinking we might sing a round of "We are the boys" at some point. What about you??
