Hi Bees! I'm getting my makeup trial at the end of this month and the MUA has requested I bring my own foundation just to make sure it's a perfect match. She recommended MAC but I wanted to see if anybody can suggest something for a gal with typical combo skin and some redness. Any favorites?? Thank you!

I love MAC makeup, so that's all I can really suggest... I've only used their eyeshadow & eyeliner thou. Lots of my friends use MAC & love it :).

Make Up Forever is a great line, but I prefer their concealers to their foundations

I also recently tried the new Loreal foundation the has a little paint roller in it.   I don't wear foundation on a daily basis and I thought the Loreal stuff looked totally natural and it didn't feel heavy at all.   It's what I am wearing on my wedding day.

Clinique, I use to be the girl that bought her make up at Target, Clinique is well worth the $$$.  I think in the last year and a half I've only had to buy two bottles and they're about $25 each.  I was even wearing the wrong foundation shade/color, and found the best match.

I second the Clinique suggestion. I use their liquid Superfit foundation, applied with clean fingers, with a dusting of loose powder to set it, and it keeps my t-zone un-shiny and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin or dry spots. I also use it as concealer.

I've tried 'em all, and I LOOOOVE Mac. It feels like you are wearing nothing! I really think it is the best.

I use MAC Studio Fix as well, and I really like it. Laura Mercier is also supposed to be amazing, but is pretty pricy I think.

I don't like MAC, although I used it for years. There is nothing wrong with the actual mu, but I have blue/red undertones and their foundation tended to give me a funny orange tint :/

    I love Clinique though!

I'm surprised the MUA isn't going to do your foundation with their own product. I've had two makeup trials and neither asked me to bring foundation. But then again, both knew that I don't really wear makeup.

The foundations I own are Sally Hansen Airbrush and the new Revlon PhotoReady foundation, but both MUA's used MAC.

The MAC Studio Fix liquid foundation is what my MUA used on me for my wedding day and I LOVED IT!

I really like Smashbox foundation, but after reading all of these I might just have to try MAC

    Wow, MAC is on top!

@Brianne, I know, I was kind of surprised too. She said she just wants to make sure it's a perfect match.. but I was thinking, well, aren't you supposed to find a perfect match? lol, we'll see how it goes!

If you're not familiar with foundation, the people at the MAC desk are very helpful & knowledgeable. They'll help you pick out the right color for you. They even do a free "trial" on you so you can see if you like it before you buy it... at least here they do.

I wear Mary Kay but had MAC products used for the wedding. I loved the MAC! I will definately start buying some or all of my products from them in the near future. :)

I agree with serabell go try MAC on before you buy it. I am allergic to MAC is makes my skin dry and i breakout...so i stay away from the foundation but LOVE LOVE the shadows :)  I have been using Maybelline's Mineral Power liquid foundation for the past 2 yrs and LOVEEEEEEE it..perfect match buildable converge and does not break me out.  I have tries many other foundations ans so far i love my Maybelline and will stick with it.

Since you are in the USA u can go try a few drugstore brands (Revlon and Maybelline r best IMO) if u do not like the foundation or need to find your color u can return the product. Sadly in Canada i have yet to find a drugstore that allows that :(

as for department stores other than MAC try Sephora tell them what u want in the foundation and have them put it on u..and c which one you like best

also give Clinique a try they have great prices and great foundations :)

    good luck
