I'm a Galveston bride! It really is a great city.
Have you looked into the Garten Verein? It's gorgeous. The rental fee is around $3,000, I think, which includes tables and chairs (but they're pretty ugly, so you'll need to rent linens). You can also rent the adjoining Kempner Park from the city for free, if you need a ceremony space. There are a ton of caterers in Galveston, as well, so you should be able to get some decently cheap quotes.

I am just tosssing ideas around, but I am in love with the idea of getting married in Galveston. I love the town, the history and it's just a really fun and different thing from the typical wedding most people have.
I don't have a HUGE budget ( no spending $10k on food and beverage alone here) but not a tiny budget either. Can anyone suggest any locations with some pricing ideas as well? I have looked around a bit online and really like the Lyceum, but it seems like for the price you just get the building- no chairs or anything.
Any ideas, suggestions or pointers would be appreciated :)
