"Marley and Me" was a tearjerker, but SO GOOD! Really cute writing and Owen Wilson & Jennifer Aniston were great. Very sweet, likable characters. Especially since you're an animal person, Mrs. Bee, you should see it!
I also liked "Benjamin Button" but it was a little drawn out and I have heard from some people that they thought it was a little too slow. I still liked it.
I am dying to see "Slumdog Millionaire" which I hear is a very feel-good movie!
i don't want to cry which is why i've avoided marley! i read the book and i just know i will cry!
Benjamin Button was such a good movie!
Bride Wars was worth checking out.
If you're into horror like I am, My Bloody Valentine is a must-see.
We just saw Defiance. It was...powerful. At least that's what I thought. I also liked Benjamin Button.
Slumdog Millionaire! Awesome movie. I came home and downloaded the soundtrack afterward.
I also liked Benjamin Button-- it was so pretty and surreal. Kinda sad at the end. I love the texture of movies like. Very vintage feeling. It was a tad bit drawn out, but I enjoyed it.
The Wrestler was good, but also sad.
I've been wanting to see Milk because it's gotten great reviews among my friends.
LOVED Twilight (well, the books more than the movie). Anyways, I concur on Benjamin Button, and wanted to warn you against revolutionary road- it is the complete opposite of "feel good". Just an FYI
I second Canary's endorsement of Slumdog Millionaire -- it's truly amazing. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The Wrestler is also great -- tough to watch in parts, but a moving story. And I loved Milk ... Sean Penn IS Harvey Milk in this film. He never ceases to amaze me.
LOVED: Slumdog Millionaire and Defiance
LIKED: Gran Torino
I didn't really care for Bejamin Button, but it's not terrible.
CAN'T WAIT FOR: He's Just Not That Into You (comes out in a few weeks) and Watchmen
I saw Benjamin Button, and I thought it was really good... maybe having an age gap in our relationship made it seem more compelling to me.
I'd love to go and see Slumdog Millionaire and Milk, but haven't come up with the spare time yet!
I'm actually looking forward to shopaholic even though I didn't enjoy the one book I read that much. Patricia Fields is the stylist and I know the fashions are going to be insane! We should do a NY meetup!
Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, The Wrestler and Frost/Nixon are my favorites out of the ones I've seen in the last few weeks. Of course, movie tastes are really subjective. I will say that The Wrestler gets quite graphic in parts and I had to cover my eyes. (I used to be pretty good about movie violence but have turned into the biggest wimp in the last few years.)
indecisivebride, not to burst your bubble - and again repeating the caveat that movie tastes can be really different between people - I saw He's Just Not That Into You at an early screening and found it annoyingly degrading to both women and men, plus about 30 minutes too long. But Ginnifer Goodwin's character does have a very cute pink princess phone that I would have bought immediately...if I still had a landline!
I can't wait for Shopaholic!!! I am a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella, and I read all of the books in the series, I am also a huge fan of Isla Fischer!
Having just realized that we have seen none of the movies that are nominated for academy awards, we are going to the movies tonight. Now apparently it's my job to decide which one. We went all the time when we were just dating, and then got too busy with wedding planning, and since then we've been mostly sitting on the couch recovering I think. Kind of pitiful, isn't it?
Frost/Nixon is fantastic! I was luck enough to get to see it on Broadway and they did a GREAT job translating to it film. Frank Langella's Nixon is not to be missed!
I also have to put in a plug for Doubt, whith has some amazing performances, but it is a heavy moive so if your looking for something light this is not it! But I'm a huge Meryll Streep fan and she is giving the performance of a carreer IMHO.
Slumdog Millionaire-- parts of it are really hard to watch, but it is such an amazing movie!
Ive seen Gran Torino.... its good! But anything clint eastwood is good.

I haven't watched a movie since Twilight! Anything out there now that you'd recommend? I generally like comedies because I want to feel good when I walk out of a theater, but I'm game for anything good!
