Mr. Bettybye and I are going to be wedding band shopping today after work. We are looking for something affordable. I have heard a lot of stuff about tungsten and how it’s affordable lately, do you have any suggestions or thoughts?

i have heard that, too but gold really isnt that bad either, depending on the quality and the style of the band. if you go simple without any extra stones or etching, it can be pretty affordable. also, stay away from designers, just having a designer name on a simple band can jack up the price.
go to a few different places and compare and look for sales/promotions. good luck!

Mr. Grumpybear wanted Tungsten. We bought his from Zales. It was like $200 with their protection plan (which I reccommend – since Tungsten can’t be resized you have to buy a new ring – their plan covers that!). Gold/white gold can be inexpensive too, you may have to shop around. 🙂 Good luck!!!!

We ordered my fiance’s tungsten online for $25 with shipping and it looks great.

My fiance got my e-ring off http://www.bluenile.com. We plan to get our wedding bands off there too. It’s a wholesaler so they aren’t upcharged, you can find white gold or gold bands for as little as $125 on there!!
check it out!

I bought DH’s tungsten band off of http://www.titaniumkay.com for $89!! They have a great return policy (30 days) and they offer laser engraving (no one local to me provided laser engraving which is necessary to engrave tungsten). For $89, DH and I bought two bands for him in case his finger swells (we bought a size bigger) over time or in the summer hot weather. I highly recommend this company. The ring is comfort fit, well made, heavy and is very high quality.
Originally, DH wanted a white gold band to match mine. I bought him one very similar to his tungsten band – it was $800! But, later he decided that he didn’t really like the white gold because he is too hard on jewelry. We returned the white gold ring. Turns out Tungsten was best for him. 🙂
Good Luck and happy shopping!

We have been looking at a material called palladium. It’s related to platinum but it’s not as exspensive.

Also, check out the difference in comfort fit and regular fit. I know my FH wears a 10.5 comfort fit perfectly, but a 10.5 regular fit is a little hard to get off his finger…. He likes Tungson due to his job and I dont mind that. We have found a lot on overstock for $50 and less so if I have to get him a new size later, who cares….
